how much did those cams cost? I will be following your thread, I plan on putting dohc heads on soon with some sti yellows and creating my own build. I am debating piggyback, standalone or just a FMU with a safeguard for timing retard. heres my mods so far; 92ej22t jdm td04 90 deg inlet-13lbs 3"tuboback turboxs mbc/fcd XSpower header with uppipe WRX intercooler Greddy Bov Blitz Intake
Atta-boy. Get you a standalone in the future and we'll find a way to put your brother's turbo on your car.
the cams were 500 shipped, its just a re-grind, they arent new cams. they are supposedly better than the cobb spicys as far as hp goes, at a fraction of the price, so a shot I will give them. I am looking into doing a d-tec as I hear the piggyback is 90% standalone. can you verify this jason? im pretty pumped about the build, I need to get the body of the old legacy up to par if you will, shes showing her age, 15 mn winters and you know there will be some rust. :eek3:
pffft. body what? You know how I feel aboutthe piggyback situation with the Tleg ECU. You'll never be able to toutch your timing unless you spend big dough on an MSD setup. Even then, you can only retard the timing. Link G3 including 2.5 internal MAP sensor and loom for $900.
ok, thats alot better than the 2200 that innovative tuning quoted me for thier s/a im not too worried about engine management at this point, I just want to get the car up and running before summer and work all the bugs out, then save for the ecu. and before I even think about getting an ecu I need a trans. hey dannnnnn I may need your brain and hands for a hydraulic clutch setup.... or maybe Ill just go to upull and snag a trans for 91.00 and give it the coctail and see how long it lasts. on the other hand, I dont want to be like fuji and replace the trans every other oil change..... I have some thinking to do....
Why is this in OT good sir? Up to par? I wish mine was in as good of shape as yours :emo: Looks good so far i would love to see it. I think i mentioned it earlier but if you need BC hyrdo cylinder i have an extra. Dan, where can you get said $900 Link G3?
if you go link, spend the extra $90 and get the 5 bar. If your already spending $900, why not another $100, that was my theory.
I might be getting the Link G3 now. I just read that you can get the adaptalink which plugs into your factory harness that will plug into the G3 for $1058. And I think for 10% more, you get a 4bar instead of 2bar max psi reading. http://www.linkecu.com/products/engine-management/Plug-In/rs-legacy-adaptalink/?searchterm=legacy
I'm subscribing. I'm gonna start my T-Leg build once I get a tranny in. I'm thinking 16g turbo, some form of E/M, etc. I'll probably go link just from this quote on the site "Motor-sport proven anti-lag, launch and flat shifting".
I can has T-leg mafia? haha jk guys. the reason im going link is because it plugs into the ecu without jimmy riggin **** from what I understand. I may be wrong tho. peed, your legacys trans should be in by this weekend right?
