If I read most of it correctly, it is really not a heavily modded engine. It is built stronger, but not a lot of trick 1 off custom parts, which is pretty cool. Given, there are alot of parts in the motor that are very trick, but the big things (block, pistons, rods, crank) are all relativly stock. Very good read. Thanks for posting up the link.

Well relitively stock? hum, I think every part there is massaged a whole bunch. The castings are the same for the heads and block but beyond that I think everything is heavily modified for the torture that thing sees. I especially like the pictures of the crankshaft, where did it go? They must have removed close to half its weight?

    Cool stuff :D

I guess what I am saying is that the block is not some one off, custom material, something we would never see. It is a modded stock block. It isn't built up like a nascar motor, where every piece is a top secret one off part that cost millions to make.

That is absolute so actually 3 bar so that is 44 psi +/-

IIRC some of the Saab pikes peak cars ran in the 90 psi range. The old Toyota IMSA GTP cars ran upwards of 100 psi for qualifying.:p

Notice the differences in the reciprocating masses between the stock crank and the works crank. It must be half the weight! Also notice that the rod pin on the works crank is drill for weight as well. Since that is the case how the hell do they get oil to the rod jurnals?

Seems a little hard for the engine to produce it's power output pushing air through a 34mm restrictor into eight 36mm intake valves. Good read! I would like to do a bit of research on H2O injection now.
