I don't know if this subject was brought up before or what...But I do understand that there is a recall for the WRXs, not sure which years it applies to but I know it does to mine which is an 02WRX. It's for the ABS system and I believe all what they are going to do is just replace it with a new unit. Also I do know that they are not calling it a "Recall", that there calling it some type of a campainge or somthing like that...So I just wanted to see if anyone had any info on it or already had it done, I do know it was out since August 2005 or around that time...so it's been out...Any informtion about this issue will be appricated...Thanks :)

It's not really a recall, it's a campaign. It applies to any 2002-2003 WRX manual transmission model. It's a recalibrated ABS ECU that is supposed to help with the feeling of "no brakes" when braking on uneven or broken pavement. It's free to any owner of an 02-03 with a 5 speed. However, it doesn't apply if you have a modified braking system (ie Stainless lines, larger rotors, etc.), so you'll need a stock braking system to get it. I notice a little bit of a difference, but it's only on broken or uneven pavement. Otherwise you'll never notice a thing. Hope this helps!

Is there a way to find out what recalls have been done to a car? ie: gas smell, break ECU

Kelly, as far as I know there is no fix for the pre 02 Imprezas.

02Blubru, if you talk to any Subaru service department, they can pull up your vehicle and see if there are any open recalls or campaigns that need to be done.

What about my 04, my car does this too, doesn't sound near as bad as the 02-03 cars though.
