Better follow the rules so do not get fifty lashes

    Car: 2004 Forester XT, AT,145K
Pertinent Modifications: was stage 2 couple years
    Description of the problem:
Antilock brakes going on at low speed, 5 mph or lower. Believe it is ABS sensor related while
need someone to determine which one is bad or needs adjustment. Would rather
do in my cold @ss garage. Had my certified on the side Honda mechanic put OBD s
canner on it while did not work for Subaru.
Recent maintenance or modifications: 2 mo ago, installed new rear rotors, pads and cut the lower
portion of the backing plate which is normal fix to eliminate rotor groove rubbing.

    Hey dude, long time.

Does the ABS light come on in those situations?

If no, one or many of the wheel speed sensors could be reading 0 mph early.

If yes I'd plan on cleaning out and inspecting the sensors, tone rings, and mating surfaces one by one. Measure/check the clearance while you're at it. You could also check the voltage at each sensor while manually spinning the hub if visual inspection and clearance are good.

Yes, long time for sure while still driving a Subie.

ABS light does not come on.

Thanks for the quick response. Will wait until it warms up to do myself or have local garage mechanics follow your advice.
