did they unmarry it from their previous ecu?!?!? will only work on 1 ecu at a time... you either have to find the person who sold it to you or send it in to get reprogrammed... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I connected the green wires to put the car in test mode and did everthing like it said to do in the directions and it still did not work ! So I contacted the person who I bought it from and they said it was unmarried and that they had sent it to cobb!

wow nate, way to freak a guy out!!!

Are you talking about downloading the latest maps from the AP forums on the website?

If so make sure your AP is sync'd with the map manager

^^I posted too quick. Make sure you have a good battery. also, I've noticed my ap cable needed to be wiggled around when installed on the car otherwise I'd get error messages.

also, verify your using the proper maps

This error can only occur when the AP is attempting to initialize the ECU in preparation for a reflash. This message will occur when the AP is unable to communicate with the ECU or is getting the incorrect responses.
    Possible issues are:
    • Poor connection to the vehicle
      • Verify DiagPORT connect is firmly attached to vehicle
    • The vehicle is not in Test Mode
    • Key is not fully in the ON position
      • Verify Ignition Key is set to the full 'ON' position but vehicle is not running.
    • User waited too long before pressing SELECT button
      • For WRX models, Select (OK) button must be pressed prior to 10 seconds from the time the Ignition Key is set to the full 'ON' position.
    • User pressed SELECT button too early
      • Try waiting 1-3 seconds longer after Ignition Key set to full 'ON' position.
    • The incorrect type AP is being used on the incorrect vehicle
      • Verify part number location on Serial Number sticker (back of AP) is the same type of vehicle
      • Verify Initialization screen displays same vehicle type
    Other troubleshooting steps:

What errors are you getting?? At what point in the flashing process are you getting the errors?? Are the errors when you are trying to get a map on the ap, or after that??

the error is when trying to flash the map onto my ecu at the point when you have to turn the ignition off and back on , then press ok!
