Where 10 and 35W S Merge...I was accelarating I heard a pop and lost control going 65-70 mph during a slight right turn merging into a 4 lane hwy (yes, speed limit) swerved right into gravel ditch came back sideways to the hwy into another gravel divider and ended up at the middian...Very lucky I didn't get smacked *relief* NO I WAS NOT TRYING TO 2F2F DRIFT, NATE!

awe that sucks. Looks like an easy fix though. You are lucky to come out of that with only minor damage.

Yea those bumper clips ALWAYS break, we lost quite a few at Rich's ice race. Wire tie will hold it on until you can get a new clip =)

Thanks, Kvang...Just still shaken up a bit...I did a figure 8 on the hwy...Which I was amazed I didn't hit anyone. The tire didn't have a nail. Just where the tire bead is, so it got pushed in and all the air leaked out...The Rim is shot for sure...There was a Dodge Ram pick-up beside me too, luckily I didn't hit him.

Wierd how the tire failed on me...going 65-70 mph merging...I think the Bead on the tire wore out and something hit the right spot and I was swerving doing the snow angels on dirt.

That'll learn you for using Fuzion tires... J/k, or is it?

Tires, the only thing actually connecting the car to the road. Don't cheap out on the one item that dictates how your entire car acts. accelrating, turning, and braking all depend on that little patch of rubber called the contact patch. make sure that you have good rubber in that patch or you'll be sorry.

Sorry to sound like a ****, but let me summarize.
DON'T BUY ****TY CHEAP TIRES... THEY MAY KILL YOU.

yup...doing some research on tires...for now mainly 100% street. Any suggestions...Don't need the best out there, just need a decent one. Of course price is always a factor...

glad you are ok! if the rim isnt bent i did a pretty good job taking all the road rash off my set up rota subzeros that i got used. some grinders, sandpaper and polish mine looked new. and one of the rims was almost as bad as that one.

The picture I took actually doesn't look as bad, but when you see it in person it's bad, very bad. The surface of the lip is bent and the "road rash" is all the way into where the tire bead is so the seal will not be tight. By the time you grind everything down the metal will be thin and might have a very good chance of leaking. Thanks for the suggestion...I just need to get a new set of tires and a rim, everything else will depend on the inspection next week...When I looked into my receipt it looks like I got them when my car was 6k and it has 18k now. So buying 1 tire will not work...*dammit*

Suprisely, the Fuzion cost me a decent amount $115 per tire. I just bought them to try them out 12/04, just recently came out when I bought it...They worked fine, until today.

I gave you all my "secret" stash on friday my wife has the rest of my money so good luck getting any replacement parts from me. I think the car felt smoother right away and it seems to pull a bit more in 4th,5th. btw I think I saw where you went off the road. Scary:eek:hnoes:

^^I was just kidding about the $$$...haha...Yeah, I talked to Matt (bikerboy) and he said he saw it too while he was passing from his friends shop in Blaine. Funny, I looked at my car this morning and I folded my side mirrors and Dirt and sand, I'd say almost half a hand full from each side with grass and weeds still stuck around the grooves. It was clean when I drove it and now it looks like someone threw a bucket of dirt on top of my car.

WOw...my wife drove past where I had my incident today (she wasn't in the car with me at that time, thnka god) and she said there was a yellow sign stating a speed limit on the merge @ 40mph...and I was going 65-70mph. I guess I didn't see the sign and kept going the speed limit before the merge and kept maintaining that speed, and I thought, if that's the speed limit posted I should be fine on the turn before the merge, basically I was being to relaxed when I was driving and didn't notice the yellow sign stating the 40mph on the turn to merge and I just kept going 65-70 thinking it was that...So I guess you can say I was speeding...sORRY aLL, I thought I was going the speed limit.
