Just like the title stated... streetlight flywheel on stock clutch. Has anyone done it and how does it drive? Is it worth installing with a stock clutch? Pros/Cons

flywheel really has little to do with what clutch u use. its just depends on clutch condition and if u want to dig into that area of the car more times than you have to.

The car is a daily driver. My clutch is going out and I'm replacing it with exedy oe replacement. The stock flywheel is getting resurfaced and most likely going to be re-used. I'm trying to cover the "just in case" if I need to replace it. Should I just go oem or get act streetlight one.

I heard the chatter goes away after the clutch breaks in.... is that not true if I use a lighter flywheel?

its not really a chatter! I get the shudder once in a while. Its bad feels like your car is going to fall apart. It shakes and studders. And I don't think it goes away I have a stock clutch and stock flywheel and 70k its still there.

I have the Exedy clutch and the ACT streetlight flywheel. Never had any problems with it.

You will have a rough idle and it might throw some CEL's, but its all part of the modification game.

    Shudder.... never experienced this ever.

Shudder - learn to clutch right. :)

And with a light weight flywheel it may throw a crank sensor code being as the engine revs up more quickly than it is used to/designed to.

The clutch shudders if you blow it. I have the ACT Streetlite with an Exedy Clutch and it works great. Also, the CEL codes are for engine misfires on all cylinders. An ECU reflash fixed that problem for me.

After some research. I found out the I won't lose some power with a lighter flywheel on a stock clutch. For people with this setup. Did it feel like to you lost any power?

Actually in lower gears when accelerating hard, it feels quicker. There is less momentum though when starting off. I've got an Exedy Hyper single with the 9lb flywheel. With the heavier springs in the disk and the lightweight flywheel, it chatters a bit at low rev in higher gears, like around 2k rpm in 5th or 6th.

I dunno. Its OK. I deal with it. I kill it once a day still and have been driving it since January. It doesn't help that my particular clutch is like a light switch.

I had the Exedy lightweight (12 lb) flywheel on the WRX with a stock clutch. Much fun and I would recommend it to anyone. I never had shudder, I never threw a CEL, and I even did the forbidden combination of UD pulley AND LW Flywheel. Everyone told me the world was going to end but it didn't.

If you like much quicker engine response, easier rev matching, and shifting more often then get the LW flywheel.

The only down side is that I was forced to slip the clutch a little bit more than with the stocker to have a nice ride. I also wouldn't recommend this if you drag race the car. Launching gets... really difficult.
