I dropped out of posting/lurking on here for the past month, to head to Texas and complete an adoption plan with my wife, for our newborn son. Now I just need some Subaru onesies :D

    He was born 12/13/14 @ 7lbs & 20.75"

Looking forward to getting the carseat into the WRX and helping him sleep soundly :)

Congrats! How was the adoption process? I've considered doing something like that further down the road, similar to what an old friend did and rescuing a child out of an orphanage in another country.

It was actually pretty straight forward. The worst part was dealing with the bio-grandmother. She is, was, and will eternally be bat**** crazy.

Otherwise, the paperwork took a long time to put together, but the match only took about 2 months. We expected about 7-9months, as the average....so it went faster that expected.

Adopting international is its own crazinesss. There is basically a bribe fee schedule that is wrapped into the total cost. We started out that way, going through Russia, but after the Magnitsky fiasco, we decided to go domestic.

I think that the bat**** crazy part comes with being a grandmother. I'm in the middle of a similar situation, but thankfully I'm not the adopting family.
