since making the car fast is going to be tough I'd recommend suspension, brakes, and chassis upgrades

drop it down, different rims, lip kit, wing risers, tint, some exhaust and call it good enough for now

I would get a STI tranny as my first upgrade.

    Those things look terrible. :puke:

A nice set of 17" rims will set it off nicely, and the advantage of having a white car is you can go with almost any colour wheel. I tend to favour bronze, black or gun metal on a white car, but that's just me.

To be honest, I thought they were a really nifty idea until I saw them in person on a couple of different cars. They just make the WRX spoiler look so awkward. If you want a hi-rise spoiler, the STi one looks great.

Enjoy the smooth ride over long trips. Enjoy the fuel efficiency the car came with. Enjoy being able to hear the police sirens and birds outside. Enjoy being able to drive the car for the next 5-10 years without having to worry about a transmision going, or people trying to steal your car. Enjoy having the car 90% stock!

BECAUSE you're not going to get to enjoy it the SAME WAY when it turns into a go-kart!

I would sell the fog covers as soon as you get them. Why cover the fogs? You'll miss them once they're gone!
I would tint the side markers and get some wheels.

I would do some minor suspension tweaking. new sway bars, possibly new struts/springs if you are up for a little more harsh ride. WRXs already have a decent amount of power, going with suspension will allow you to take it farther.

also 00-01 RS 6 spoke wheels in silver would be awesome on there! (then 4pot/2pots in teh future)

I'd start off with sways and springs/struts and worry about power later. An inch drop from stock always makes it look better anyway. Keep in mind what Fuji said too. The more you make it like a go-kart, the more you sacrifice the daily driving aspects of the car.

yes yess! i know, but i wont have the drive from apple valley to Minneapolis either! :) so just a little something something i would like to do later on! but for now, i just wanna make it look good. i was thinking along the lines like this..springs, sti fog light covers, 30% tint, lip kit and work emotion (bronze) for the wheels?

Springs and a tint would be a definite IMO. Never really liked bronze wheels and lips kits though, but to each his own :) You may want to think about a HID conversion kit if you want to make it look good at night.

    Suspension

Suspension fo sure. Get some Tokico's or KYB AGX's, pair them with some prodrivev springs.

Try and snatch yourself a prodrive lip if any can be found out there. I did see a guy trying to get $400 for his on nasioc so it might be tough.

What Paint did you paint your stockies with? Good look with the gold on white. I'm looking at using duplicolor gold enamel universal gold this spring on my '06 stockies.

325 lb/ft of torque off idle FTW!

I'd consider a sway bar just to get some oversteer out of that NA, but really, you can't polish that car much. It'll still be slow.

If you're planning for a swap... spend on things that wouldn't be replaced by it:

    Tires/Wheels
    Suspension
Brakes: pads for sure, rotors once they're toast, calipers if you feel the need
Aero: Prodrive lip (harder to find now), underbody panels from the newer STi's
Interior bits: you have the good seats, but they're on my list (I have an 06 rs/i) - otherwise, shifter, stereo, etc
