I've decided that a rotated mount... as sext as it is.. is just not really practical.. or seemingly for a daily driver... occasional warrior.

So out of all the stock mount turbos on the market...

is there a turbo that anyone would recomend over all other stock mount turbos for DD, that doesn't take insainly long to build boost, and is far more impressive then the stock turbo?

would the zilla series be the better source of dd turbos?

on a 2.0l or 2.5l motor? Generally the best thing for a 2.0 is a 16g and a 2.5 is an 18g if you want quick spool.

I have a stock mount turbo and I've had way more issues than Dream has had with his 35R. Some cars take well to modding some don't. Dream's car is very drivable and is reliable enough to be a daily driver.

Edit - I have an 04 STI with an SBR 20G

Discopope is running a small 35r with tmic and he dd his car.

You need to decide what you really want out of the car. What/where do you want to have boost. What are you going to do with the car (ie. autocross, track car, drag car). There are lots of options, but it really comes down to what are you looking for.

Ya, the turboz I listed are probably the smallest ones you'd want to get. Bigger ones just make more top-end power and spool later.

    lol...

low end boost is the most useful for real racing. For skreet racking and drags high end is nice, but completely useless for most forms of actual racing save for the front straight at BIR. Response time matters more to some people, but theyre in the minority on this site.

I'd say and FP green is a wise choice. I personally rarely exceed 4k rpm on the street so I have no idea why I'd want all my power that high in the powerband where I rarely if ever get to use it.

Take a ride in Dream's car and tell me then if his car is laggy or has no low end.

if you have the 2.5l you have some nice off boost tq, and i could see waiting longer for boostification. I personally would like to see boost in the 2XXXrpm range. but i suppose with enough NA tq to move you around it is possible to wait till 4XXXrpm for massive power.

I rarely let the car get over 4.5k....
so a nice Fshhhhhhh prior to that would be great.

I just don't want giant turbo boost at 5k with so little rpm left to enjoy it.

the green looks like a nice turbo,

I just want some nice friendly hp/trq numbers that will make me giggle
    when it's called for.

I am getting my 02 wrx tuned on Tuesday with a 16g EVO III. I will try to let you know how that turns out. I was looking for something that wouldn't be so laggy also. From everything I read, the EVO version of the 16G is about as good as your going to get for the 2.0. I didn't get it p&p'ed but I imagine that would make it even better.

The 20g on my STI hits full boost at 3800. With the DTEC this year and exhaust work it should be much lower. Next year I'm more than likely going with a 30R as I want the quicker spool with the big top end.
