How do you like the prodrive springs? I'm looking at getting some for my wagon but pairing them up with stock struts.

what are the spring rates compared to the stockers? I'm worried they'll blow the stock struts. Is the ride harsh at all? I'm looking for a bit stiffer than stock to reduce body roll but not tooth filling breaking stiff:biggrin:

I read a few wagon specific posts on nasioc.com and they are saying that the prodrives seem too soft up front and on big bumps they slam the front down really hard due to lack of travel along with the low ride height.

I am putting prodrives on my wagon. I could care less about their ability to cushion my behind when i drive over a pothole if it helps me corner well when i need it, namely under race conditions. Its nothing compared to crappy off the shelf coilovers. the behavior you're describing would also have a lot to do with the dampeners on the car... which is unknown.

Prodrives are not suitable for stock struts, period. go ahead and run them if you want, but that little dampening with that low of a ride height plus that much rate = crap

also if you want to see a bunch of people who dont know wth they're talking about, read a suspension post on nasioc. maybe 5 guys who post regularly on there even have an understanding of suspension tuning. The rest of them are just reading crap out of catalogs. If you want a good suspension look at what top autocrossers are using. They spend more time on suspension development and real life testing than anyone. They will also be using all sorts of things that normal subaru tuners would overlook, and seldom if ever use any popular JDM brand name anything (Tanabe/cusco/tein etc) because that crap doesnt work worth a damn when it comes to precision steering (some are pretty decent on big tacks though)

actually i'm putting the exact same setup on my car, plus Group N top hats and swaybars. The rates are among the highest that fit onto wagons, ~220f 200r. they don't publish the rates but thats what people have come up with..

Hey, I didn't know that you were going to go with Prodrives, Zak.

Let me know when you're done and we can compare rides -- I'd like to see how they ride with the upgraded struts (I've got the stock ones for now) and tophats.

I had a change of heart.

after I ordered the swift springs. Dammit. now I have 2 sets of springs on the way and need to sell the swifts at a loss since the restocking fee is a whopping 35 fricking percent on returns plus return postage.

so... anyone want some cheap swift wagon spec springs? probably better for stock struts. My FS thread went over like a lead balloon.
