ND trooper followed me 4 miles on 94 almost over the bridge into MN. Ticket was for 26% and tint on the windshield (visor strip).

Overall it was a great $20 experience. Would recommend to everyone.:hsugh:

At this rate it will take another 5 or so before it's even cost effective to look into getting it retinted legally.:hsdance:

Hum..so you got a ticket because your front (visor area strip)was too dark?? or is it not allowed to have tint on the visor area?

I have that on my car too, maybe I should take it off.

but suck to get a ticket for stupid thing.

I thought the visor tint was legal, as a safety precaution to keep the sun rays low on your eyes.

It is legal, you just cant have it down too far. I think you can have a 2-3" strip, but im not 100% sure.

Yeah, I wonder if I could have just handed the cop a $20 bill rather than go through mailing it in.:hsugh:

My visor strip is pretty low, I like where its at though, and it will be a cold day in hell when my car goes completely untinted.

So is the ticket price decided by the officer like in Mexico? At least in Mexico, a lot of the cops will let you get away with it if you pay them on the spot or have your girl give them a BJ. (from what I've heard, not experienced)

I got my first window tint ticket on the way home from picking up my new 2002 WRX from the dealership in Omaha. How's that for a kick in the ass? I've had 3 or 4 more since that. Still haven't taken it off.

The last ticket I got, the cop didn't even measure the tint %, because he remembered me from the month before when he stopped me. I fought that ticket on the basis that he never measured the tint %. Somehow, the paperwork got "lost" and I never had to go to court for it. I think the cop figured out his mistake and let it go.

On the bad side, tint tickets do show up on your driving record. Nebraska rocks for their liberal view of window tint. I mean, they don't make you not hang curtains in your house.

Are you serious? Tint tickets show up on yr record? That sucks. What an absurd law! altho there're more assinine laws out there...

I had a buddy in Highschool who kept getting pulled over and ticketed for his 5% in back, 15% in front tint... Highway patrol finally had enough of him one day and cut his tint with a razor blade ... I don't think the 3 unpaid speeding tickets (all in excess of 100mph ) helped him any either.

<Remembers story from last years spanish teacher>

Last year, we got a good story <true> from our spanish teacher

Basicly he was stopped by some police, and was asked for his passport

And he forgot his passport at the hotel

Now, you can seriously get screwed for his, but the funny part his, while my teacher is freaking out, thinking he'll be put in jail, the officer goes "we need a new broom" so, at the "station?" my teacher starts to sweep with a broom found in the room

Then he gets kinda pushed around, and they say "we need a broom"

Finally after many minuets pass, my teacher finally gets it, gives them 10 bucks, and walks away

    :eek3:

It says moving on the ticket :dunno:

But I can't imagine it does... I technically don't own the car, so that would just make things confusing.
