Alright, i am going to go pick up some air tools. Anyone have any recommendations on what to get? how high of HP motor is ok, how many gal tank is adiquit? It is going to be used for minor car work, maybe some painting, and such. If anyone has any recomendations on what to get or know of any good deals out there let me know Thanks! I would suggest going a little bigger. Are you going to be using a DA sander or anything that requires more constant flow? Anything around 5hp should be enough for home use. I would recommend anything upwards of 20 gallon or more if you hate waiting for the compressor to recharge every 5 minutes.
mostyl for the impact gun, painting gun, and maybe a little grinding/polishing. I could always get a seperate tank if i find i need it, anouther 10 gallon tank is only $32 and 20-30 gallon compressors are around $390-600. it wont be too bad, it will be running alot though, make sure you get an extension cord, and a super long hose, then you wont hafta deal with the noise

^^don't buy that. The CFM at 90 psi should be 5.5 or more SCFM to properly accomodate an impact wrench. As a matter of fact, I will be moving out of the house sometime in Spring/Summer and I won't have room for my Campbell-Hausfeld Air Compressor and tools. If you want to buy mine (belt driven) I can sell it to you for a reasonable price. It's been used no more than 3 working hours.
I can vouch for Fong's equipment, it's in great shape and I'm sure he hardly ever touches it. If you haven't already bought impact sockets, stay away from the ones at Mills Fleet Farm, they're inexpensive but they can't hold impacts of 150lb/ftq or more.(I've busted a set already) It's better to pay a little more for good tools then to pay less and have the fustration of broken tools turn your quick installation into a scavenger hunt.
