Thinking about the next step I want to do to my subi. I know i want it lowered but dont know if I should go with a Ksport Air ride system or Coilovers. Need some feedback.
Confused. Why is this a question? Is your Subaru a Cadillac? Does your Subaru have Daytons? Will you be selling drugs and hoes out of your Subaru? Will you and Hector be going legit...trying to get on the NIRA circuit? Question Answered.
No im not going to be hitting switches. Or 4x4ing I just want a nice stanced look but not take a half a hour to pull out of my driveway. I like how subi's look when there lowered and theres not three inches between top of the tire and the wheel well. Would like the ability to do this but want this for every day ride height.
I think this is key. Are you doing this for looks, or are you going to also track/race the car. I am no suspension guru, but its my understanding that airbags are not an ideal performance mod.
You'd be suprised! They do have "track worthy" bag systems which look to be exactly what the KSports are. I've seen some different write ups on whether or not airbags can be sproty or not, and they most definitely can! The ones on the white STi in the video above aren't like Caddy or Lincoln airbags which are more for comfort levels, they are high performance airbags set up with much stiffer rubber compounds. I believe that they had a mustang with high performance bags at SEMA. I would prefer the adjustability of the airbags over the coilovers if i had to choose between the two. OP...What is the price comparison like? Last that i heard, the airbags were pretty similar in price. It's been awhile since i've compared tho. I love how PedoBear is peaking out of the front bumper of the WRB pic.lullz
I have a few friends with bagged vehicles and one of the other probs is when its cold out....if your driving it year round. I don't know how elastic the bags stay when its hella cold in the winter....everyone I know only uses them in summer...but again semis use them so idk. Personally I have always likes bagged low look
http://www.d2racing.com/content/products/super_professional_air_suspension Can't find the price...but definitely not "show only" airbags. Not sure about winter applications. But alot of people don't like running coilovers in the winter either...except papa Ben!
http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/2012/Subaru/WRX/Suspension/Air-Suspension-Kits/ Oooooweeee...ksports are spendy!!
I dont need to have a track worthy STI. I want a unique look but dont want to loss the fun that is STI. Just trying to do something different without going over the top. Im leaning toward the Ksports really bad. All i need to do is find a shop that will do the install.
Is the white STi in the video rolling on the ksports? Cuz it doesn't look like it's lost any of it's handling. I vote you bag it! It'll definitely be something different!
Also I think this is retarded cool look but completely non functional Ksport are around 3 grand which isnt to bad.
Lmao at the 40 point turn around! Wouldn't it make more sense for him to park on the street...everywhere that he goes? Wah? The link that i posted above says 2008-2012? http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/2012/Subaru/WRX/Suspension/Air-Suspension-Kits/
Air ride is for mini trucks and rat rods that want to lay frame, rocker, or door. Dont bag an STI and make it non-winter driveable, throw it on coilovers so in the summer you can dial it in, and crank them up in the winter! And yes, I'm talking from personal experience.....
the subaru awd system is great for when your stuck in your driveway slant or on a speedbump/gas station fill bump
get the bags if you have the funds and thats the look you want... or be a pro and live the low static life.. its manageable (yes im going planning to go lower to those that know my car) plus static you get to rock these
Went with the Bc Coilovers. Got to get used to driving with coilovers again totally different driving style vs stock springs and struts
I was wondering how long till the stancetards started infecting this place. You planning on 18x10.5" wheels with 225s as well?
