I have shiny new KW V3's with enough negative camber to be quite visible. I'm working on getting in with Jeff as soon as he gets settled in to his new shop, including some parts installs. In the meantime, daddy needs a "normal" alignment. Preferably somewhere without a wait so I can get it done before LAX. I've heard tell Samaritan might be willing to do it and I know people trust them with specialty/$$$$$ wheel mounting, so aftermarket suspension shouldn't be new to them. Anyone have personal experience with them? Who else can I look at it?
If you know how much Jeff charges and go to MAP for an alignment you might want to wear a diaper because you will ****!
This. I'm already in contact with Jeff and the best option for getting in with him looks like waiting until next month when he'll be set up in his new spot. In the meantime I have camber-o-doom to dial out. I don't need a crazy pants aggressive alignment. Just enough to keep the wear on tires/etc down to a reasonable level until I can get Jeff to go nuts on it.
I would think a Firestone or maybe Discount Tire will be able to give you something within factory specs. They should at least be able to give you zero toe, this is all that is really important until Jeff can get his hands on it. You should be able to get the camber to a close enough in your garage.(I'm running -3.2 all the time in mine with no wear issues).
Sears auto at ridgedale I got into a corner after installing my suspension, and having jeff booked all the way until the start of the season. They did an alignment, fairly cheap, within "tolerances" of my specs. Otherwise, Courtney Truck Service do performance alignments as well. Sounds funny, but they probably get as many porsches through there as trucks.
One of my co-workers only goes to Andover Wheel and Frame. He said that the guy does a lot of high end muscle cars and is a huge car fanatic himself. I plan on using them when I do my struts.
The thing with the Firestone's and Tires Plus's of the area is I don't know that I trust them near my KW's. I'd consider one if someone knows a specific tech at a specific location that is trust worthy. Andover lead is compelling. It would give me a reason to visit QFanatic again before lining it up for a Drive n' Dine: http://qfanatic.com/
2nd Andover Wheel and Frame. http://andoverwheelandframe.com/ No fancy racks, 100% down to the basics and they do some good work.
For what its worth samaritan has never done me wrong. I haven't had an alignment done there but from balancing to wheel straightening to mount balance they have treated me right.
Jeff is squeezing me in this week. My "other woman" will be the very last car on the rack before he shuts the doors at his current location for good. Stoked! In case anyone finds themselves in a similar situation later and happens across this thread: CTS is staying in my back pocket as an "in case 'ish" option. I heard nothing but good things while following up on that lead. If Jeff hadn't been able to make the scheduling magic happen at the last second, that's where I'd be going.
Courtney truck is a solid option. The owner is definitely a car guy, if I remember correctly he has at least 1 race prepped porsche 911 cup car
I offer the 3rd endorsement for Andover Wheel and Frame. They are were all of my alignments have gone over the last few years. They are hot rodders, so they know how to take care of someones nice car.
