Ok, About December I made an account with a hosting company, Big Blue Builders LLC. For $10 a year, I got 10 gigs of storage and everything else included (PHPNuke, MySQL). Well, after the 3rd month, it stopped working. I emailed the guy back and demanded a refund. He said that the server was hacked into and he'll get back to me. Emailed him again couple months later, said the company went bankrupt and he's trying to get my $10 back. Now, I don't care about the ten dollars, I also paid for a year for a domain somewhere else (www.midwestautosalon.com), I found another hosting server for a good price and read their reviews, I might sign up for it. But, the MAS link name is still under my name, how would I go about putting the MAS url to my new server? Can anyone do a WhoIs? to that URL and tell me what the midwestautosalon.com company is to, because I will try to call them and route the domain to my new server when I sign up.

you can move your domain to the control of yahoo, or any other domin name serverice. In other words anyone you can get a domain from can also take control of one you own. Most of them will not even charge you to do this , because they expect that you will renew with them the next year.

oh..so, just find a new server..and register my domain again with them? Would I have to pay? I already paid for a full year for that name..do you have anyone that can host me? or recommend me to anyone? I'm a noob at this and don't wanna pay for the domain again since I paid for a full year already but will pay for the server.

Hosting you are on your own. I have a server and limited bandwith in my basement.

Most domain registers will not make you pay, untill it is time to renew with the goverment.

You have two seperate deals here.

    1) Registerd domain name. That's yours for the year despite whatever host you have.

    2) Hosting of website. Time to find a new host. Explain the situation to them and they will get you squared away.

Do do a Whois yourself go to www.internic.com

    Good luck!
