Yesterday(Friday) around 10am I went to check out some Subies in South St. Paul. Going eastbound on 94 exiting to hwy 52 South, that bridge was extremely slippery. Happens about 5 seconds after I got onto 52 on the straightaway(bridge). Two sedans in front of me, in front of them was a semi w/its trailor and in front of the semi was a Toyota Pickup and another sedan. From my view, all of a sudden I just saw the pickup doing 90degree and the rear of the truck hit the side wall(concrete) hard. Thank god he didn't went over the bridge. Dont know if the semi hit the pickup or not. The car behind the semi stop in time BUT the 2nd car couldn't stop in time and rear ended the the car behind the semi on the left side taillight, whole taillight was completely gone. I was behind all this and good thing I stop in time. Although I did skid 20-30ft while doing heal-toe into 1st gear to stop quicker. I stopped about 1 and 1/2 cars behind this accident. Everybody was doing about 25-30mph before the accident. There were 5 vehicles involved including the semi. The bridge looks like there is nothing on the road but it was like driving on ice(Black-Ice). oh and I was driving my 02WRx. That was my day yesterday. Anybody got any similar stories?
Dang! Glad to know you were not involved in the accident. I live close to that area. I will keep that spot in mind for being slippery.
