3am call from cabins secerity system saying garage alarm has gone off and that the cabin has no more readings of our LPgas consuption.(the secerity system controls the house so if we were going to teh cabin we call them and ask them to turn on the heat.) almost out the door to head up to the cabin when we get a call from my neighbor saying cops are at teh house and want to talk to us. so my dad send me up to my cabin 95miles in WI. i get there and firetrucks/cop cars/ city cars blocking the road. i finally get the my cabin and cant belive what i see. some a$$whole broke into the garage and took my sled 1985 yahama phazor(first year they did the pogo sticks outside) and ran it into our LPtank in the middle of the yard. he hit the tank so hard that the tank rolled down my back yard and on to the lake.(100yards). he hit the tank when he got scared when he saw a cop turn into my driveway. needless to say he did not get to far. so now im stuck in cabin with not much heat. got a small 3log fireplace with it will take them at most 2days to get a new tank wire to the house and filled. what i really dont under stand is why would he take the phazor with no seat on it when i also have a 95 polasis indy 500 a 2002 artic cat 375 i think and we also have a 2007 skidoo gtx 600 we keep the keys on the sleds. also the phazor was in the back of the garage behind the other 3 sleds?:rant: ps if words are spelled wrong under stand that i did this post with my PHONE
that is crazy alot of the time its just dumb kids out in rural areas and that is why i got a alarm for my car as it didn't come with a factory one. up here if a alarm goes of they will run they arnt like some of the more skillful thieves you see in the metro
Sorry to hear that. I spent last Friday doing the same thing. But we didn't have a security system, and they took a lot of stuff. Trashed the cabins (5 total were hit) and well, it isn't fun. I feel your pain, people are lame.
i will post pic when they are done with the investgation, also finally the cops left so i can go ride the sleds around while i wait for the new LP tank to get here
Why would you leave the keys in your sleds? I understand its a cabin, and theivery is not okay by any means, but you might as well have just given him the sled. Its similar to the people that get their cars stolen while they leave them running outside in the winter....
Uh oh, our cabin's in WI too. Where are your guy's cabins? We do have an alarm but still......Our cabin is close to Danbury.
a bleedy nose and a sprang wrist. the cops also took my sled. so i have no idea how damage the sled is on a good note the new LP tank should be here in about an hr so in about 2hr i can have heat again
the good news is that the new tank was put in. nothing blew up. got heat at the cabin again. the old tank had a crack in it so happy that did not explode. my 85phazor was a piece of ScHmIdT that i got for $75 and i do belive that is now total(due to the gas/oil that was leaking form it) and was told i will get $1800 for it if total.
