I'm here spending the weekend at Road America for the AMLS...these cars roar like angry beasts and brake at incredibly blistering speeds. How they down shift from highs speeds in split seconds into the turns is jaw dropping!. For those of you that have never been at AMLS event , its an awesome mind blowing experience and here are some photos I wanted to share... Day 1 -Thursday 8th (test and tune) : Day 2...To be Continued
Is that a rear engine setup in a viper body??? And security looks pretty serious out there.....no fooling around with those guys out there
That's awesome that you got to go check it out. What turns were you able to get access to? Did you bring the Golf Kart? Did anyone use the brakes coming into turn 1? Which was your favorite corner? When are you going to track the STI out on RA sir?
That looks awesome, nice pictures too! I've been to one of the Speed Channel series races at the Autobahn in Joliet and that was fun to watch...I can only imagine the ALMS cars.
My first ALMS experience was Petit LeMans Road Atlanta 09 with Audi and Peugeot LMP1's. Absolutely mind blowing watching them come through the esses durring the night practice. It was a shame it rained so much race day they only got about 5 of the 10 hours in before it was red flagged. I wish I would have made it out to RA this weekend for the races. I've been fortunate enough to race there in our ChumpCar twice now and can't even imagine going as fast as they do. Turn 13 is my personal favorite to drive, we can do it flat out in our car and it feels amazing when you nail it. Keep up the great pictures!
I think its a rear engine setup but will find out and confirm. My favorite corner is turn 5 because the cars come down the hill at speeds over 160 mph and quickly brake to turn in at the bottom of the hill. However, some P1 class cars come in too fast and end up running off track. The fast downshift sounds like music beats. I still have alot to fix on the STi to be track ready but God willing when I get the financial support, I'll make it happen. It is fun indeed..And its such a beautiful track. Thanks...I do it as hobby. Could a Mod please edit the title and correct it to ALMS...I was to tipsy last night...Stella and white wine.
Day 2 Race Practice: Beautiful sunny morning and I'm staying at this inn having free white wine... Day 3 to be continued...
No. It's still front mounted. It does have a rear mounted tranny that you see hanging down in the center. And you would not see flames from the exhaust shooting out under the doors.
I appreciate that!!!! Day 3: Race - CTSCC & Race - Rolex Series. Pics from Turn 12 AKA Canada Corner. CTSCC Group Rolex Series coming soon...

Awesome pics!! This is a bit off topic, but I wonder how much different these "race spec" Ferrari's, Porches's, etc are than the versions that are sold to consumers...
