    good to know. I am going to do some diagnostic work on the issue and see what i find. I believe I may still be on the original alt with 265k on it. dunno thank you

    I have one that is from a 2000 RS. I'm located in northern part of state. I often go to Grand Rapids, Hibbing and Duluth. Occasionally down to the metro.

    my alternator bench tested fine. I scuffed and reconnected ground wires and put on new battery cable connectors and the problem was solved. thanks guys
