Bought an '03 WRX Wagon in July and it had some NGK Platinum plugs in it that I was unsure of the miles on them though the owner did give me great service records.

Anyway, I installed some NGK Copper V-Power plugs and man what a difference! Much smoother and the power seems much stronger. The part that makes me think I'm off my rocker is that the car purrs more now with a lot less of a Suby boxer gurgling sound and it much quieter, especially on the highway. Is this placebo or is it possible?

Platinum plugs run poorly in a lot of cars. Simple copper NGKs are almost always a wise choice.

Makes sense. Platinum plugs, in my experience are crap in a Subaru. The 100k mile marketing of platinum plugs is total BS as well.

so since I am (at this very moment) putting new plugs in, what should I go with. I have Denso iridium power ikh22's that I pulled out of the car. I bought what was stock for my car, same kind but ikh20's. I cant remember what way is colder. Are 22's colder or are 20's?
Also what would you recommend for my car? Go with what is in there?

stock block, aftermarket intake and exhaust, sti turbo/intercooler running 20psi
