Good morning, I was just wondering if there is any type of annual big meets for folks in the area. I've looked through alot of post's and it seems like a lot of little get togethers. Just kind of looking toward planning my summer. Thanks, Tim
not much....yet.... but the club has grown ALOT in the last year or so, and we've had 2 events in the last few months that had more cars than MW3!! So who knows....maybe we can just convince more of them to come to MW4...
Yeah, we usually have the big club meets in the warmer part of the year but we don't officially call them an "official club meet." A lot of the time, people don't have the time or interest to join depending on what's going on for that event. Location, the type of meet, cost, and time are a few of the most important variables that make a meet huge or not. When we do organize one this year, I hope there'll be something for everyone to do/enjoy (ie-drag racing or ice racing) and the MNSubaru video is taped with the intention that our club members have more fun together than not.
How about a drive like we did in the fall and end up someplace and grill out! Sometime in the spring at a park or something of the sort. Steve of the Rochester Contingent
Some ideas on the plate Fall: Definately another Duluth trip in the fall. That was a blast, ask anyone that went...besides me, I was blasting my breakfast into Justin's hotel room toilet most of the morning. Winter: Trips to Rich's DeerLodgeResort rocked the pants off of everyone that went. I don't think anyone had a bad time. Such a good time in fact, that Josh didn't seem to care that Rich's labs were pissing on his wheels the whole weekend. Spring: Nothing definite set for spring months...something around April-May would be good. Any suggestions?! Summer: Usually the summer is filled with enough little events that large ones really aren't necessary. But a well planned large meet, or a day drive/night bbq thing would be pretty cool. I think setting up 4 seasonal meets would be a great idea and it would be something that everyone could look forward to. Especially in the colder months, it is nice to have a vacation from the norm.
i agree with jasons take on things. the duluth trip and ice racing trips were amazingly fun. this past summer we had that meet at Nates shop which was alot of fun. i think that was our biggest turn out yet. perhaps another event like this could be held. i am not saying that it should becuase it takes alot to host such an event. there have been alot of new poeple joing lately so that makes it alot easier to have some more events (hopefully these people will show up) lol
yep. i think we are good with events. if we can pull off quarterly "big" events i think that would be great. we are on the road to doing that. we just need something in the spring and we will have something for all 4 quarters. and that is just big stuff. we also do alot more little stuff all the time.
if you guys wana come up north in the spring we have pleanty of room at the resort. there are alot of cool places to cruise around
^^I like that idea. ...but what can the members do to make an event like this one an extra enjoyable one? BBQ? We need to have additional cars come along the trip to reserve a space for food/drinks/chairs. Obviously, more info will be posted about this type of event later, but lets keep the ideas coming. If not, lets keep the discussion on track on how dummies like us can make it so more members from around the area can join in even if they don't know us active members. I vote for name tags!
mnsc has a huge area that they take over, we should too, bbq, banner, ect ect, more then 3 people this time too! show our mnsubie pride, and get there at a decent time so we can have a large area :idea: when is rock falls first open track day thing?
Lets get Matt or someone to put together a Spring and Summer Tour! I dont like having to wait till Fall for all this fun!
