http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-2008-Subaru-Legacy-2.5-GT-Spec-B-t31649#listing=109231116 Just emailed the dealership to get some more information on the car, was wondering if you guys thought this would be a good deal. Next week when i get my tax returns back, i will be looking at selling my car and getting the ball rolling on another subie. Toyota dealership in Ohio, so that's the only thing that sucks at the moment.
I'd want to triple check it's just the alignment/inflation that caused the wear pattern on the tires.
Good call! Didn't really pay attention to that. I'll ask about that when he emails back and forgot to ask him for a history report and if the car was modified. Just if there was any mechanical issues, timing belt/water pump change, and any unusual noises coming from the engine, and if they offered warranties. Looked up the reviews for the dealer, and all the reviews said they were pretty stand up there in the used car department.
carfax said damage in 2011... Accident reported Vehicle involved in a sideswipe collision Involving left side impact with another motor vehicle Left side primarily damaged Minor damage reported Gotta get some more info on this one
that's what I suspected... I've seen some cars that never quite aligned right... ended up being a bent lca that still bolted up/looked fine. But was just far enough off that it could never hold a factory spec alignment. I'd try to find out more about the accident (damage reported, damage fixed, alignment specs after, whether it needed/was put on a frame rack, etc...). Could be something, could be nothing.
thanks for the recommendation. when he calls later today or tomorrow i will bring up those points. here's the carfax link that came up after a quick google search. looks like the alignment was redone after the crash, just need more info on that and if i can get some info on the driver before. http://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?partner=UCL_0&vin=4S3BL696283211141&source=CFX
