I was wondering if there is anyone here who has an RC car? In particular drift one. I have a nitro rs4 with a 350Z body that i got a few month ago. I am trying to learn how to drift it, it is actually not that hard.
I ordered one once, cancelled it before it got to my house, since i have pretty much nowhere to use it. looks like fun though.
yeah, it is hard to find a place to use it. Especialy when it is gas. My is gas, so it is loud as hell and goes 50mph+, you have to have a lot of space with it.
Yeah, the 1/10 scale cars are way more fun than xmods. I had all three xmods evo truck, evo sedan and the original one, all moded out.
I'm a bit of an R/C addict :yumyum: I have a bunch of XMods. STi and Skyline for my Gen1 chassis (setup for drifting Fuji-style with AWD and locked rear diff). (photoshopped....but I was actually drifting there on my trampoline...just couldn't get a good pic of it) that's it for car R/Cs....but I've got 2 Xmods truck. one with a stock chassis, but a fully custom built Chevy 1500 pickup body built from a model: the axles and tires under the nova on the trailer came with the chevy model kit then there's the full custom xmod-based crawler. running hobby-grade electronics, full alloy driveline, regeared for double the crawl ratio, and custom Jeep TJ body: then there's the Nylint 1:6 rock crawler ($40 @ wal-mart). an old RadioShack monster truck that I'm regearing and locking the diffs on to make a crawler. might go hobby grade with that too.... then there's the rally slot cars: and the helicopter... and I'm starting to build a weed-whacker-powered cigarette boat....
Best drifting tires in the world.... go buy your regular rim, then go buy some pvc pipe... cut pipe to tire size, slide over rim.... poof... drifting tires for flat tar. I like like traxxis I think more then any nitro car out there, just for the cheap part replacements...
wow, dude. That subby drifting looks amazing. I miss my xmods. We should get people together and bring our rc cars and race them. Drift, jump and stuff.
I have this indoor helicopter, which I love.... great kitchen and office shenanigans. A steal at $29.99 @ Walmart, plus 6AA batteries for the charger/control. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NSFO3W/104-2222074-8341514 Also, a Hobby Zone Aerobird 3 airplane, great starter for airplane noobs. http://www.hobbyzone.com/rc_planes_hobbyzone_aerobird_3.htm My personal favorite is my HPI 1/18 micro. I have it converted to a 300 series motor ("big block"), and it goes about 30mph. AWD as well. It's pretty funny to see the little 9" long car scooting down the road at the speed of traffic. Also have a Traxxas Nitro Rustler, had it for quite some time, but still runs great. I have about 4 other random gas/electric cars and trucks in the garage as well. One is a friend's Nitro RS4, same as the OP's, but with a nicely painted 3 color NSX body on it. Chux: I love the rally slot cars! Never seen those before, I'll have to look into them!
I have an HPI Savage that will drift with enough dirt on the ground but it mostly just smashes and drives over stuff. I will be the first to admit this was one off the worst $$$ wasting purchases I have made I've only used one gallon of nitro in 2 1/2 years. I probaly doubled or even tripled the purchase price in mods and junk before the thing was even built.
anyone of your local hobby shops. hub hobby seems to be popular. They are located in two locations little canada hwy36 and rice, and richfield 66th??and penn ave.
I would highly recommend R.C. Car Kings in Burnsville, their prices are at or near internet prices in nearly all cases. They have some goofy hours but the guys are very knowledgeable and they have a huge, cheap selection. Hub will nail you for 25% or more over internet prices. It is definitely the most expensive hobby shop in town.
You beat me to it. I love that place. I just forgot the name of it. they usually have a ton of used rc's for cheap.
