Its been a long time since I have had anytime to play but my little brother just got a Xbox 360 for christmas so i decided to get him a couple of used games @ gamestop. I got him Assasins Creed, Forza, and Lost Odyssey. Didnt really pay attention to the games but one night i popped in Lost Odyssey and Damn. I got hooked. I havent played this much since Final Fantasy 7 came out back in the day. Anyone know of any more RPG's of this caliber? (on any platform)

Lost Odyssey is very good. cant think of too many current gen games that stack up. I just bought Star Ocean 3 for the second time. always a good play there.

Check out Persona 3 for PS2, very good gameplay/story and you'll get over 100 hours out of it.

Star Wars RPG? How's the storyline? Battle system? I'm probably gonna get a few flames here but i was never a fan of Star Wars. :eek4: But if the game is crafted well i wouldnt mind checking it out.

Also How is Fable II? I played the first one, although flawed it was pretty fun back in the day. I hated the voice overs though. So annoying.

As for Star Ocean 3, I might check it out too, I have always seen the cover and tried to pick it up few times but always put it back as the game as a whole just didnt really intrigue me.

Fable 2 is MUCH better than the first. Search for some press reviews. I have a brand new still wrapped copy if you want to buy it cheap.

I think fable was one of the best ideas in a long time. I enjoyed the first one, did everything once (maybe 20 hours), and shelved it. I also dont have the time to put into another FF7

It's a MMORPG like World of Warcraft. I thought Knights of the Old Republic was pretty good though.

When it came out it was kind of different as far as the battle system and had a very unique story line.
Also I bought it on ebay last week for $10, shipped.

Also, you HAVE to play through Xenogears at least once. imo its the greatest RPG on any platform to date.

Thats a pretty bold statement. Looks like i might have to make a pit stop on the way home. Is Xenogears readily availble?

Also IMO, I think Chrono Trigger is the best RPG ever made.

I'm partial to the Shining Force series, and more recently FF Tactics. Fallout 3 is the best I've played lately. I played Fable 1 in tech school, start to finish in one three day weekend...pretty damn addicting--the second Fable looks to improve in nearly every aspect.

Oblivion/morrowind also stole quite a bit of my life.

attacks, items and leveling up like Fable? LOL:laugh:

Fallout is a great game, you can do a lot of different things with some great quests, and powerups. you get to nuke an entire town at one point. It does have a ton of bugs tho.

i worked on porting the first Star Ocean on PSX from Japan to US signed consoles, that game was awesome.

Little known fact, the first 100,000 copies of the game had a typo printed on the disc. it had a phone number to call for hints and tips about the game, unfortunately the number printed on the disc was wrong which led to a sex line LOL:laugh:

I'm just weaning off of a Fallout 3 addiction and had a blast. Very engaging game. I played Fallout and Fallout 2. This kept all the campy humour with a lot of first person shooter.

I have two copies of the black label Xenogears, one mint and one near mint play copy, I'd be willing to let the play copy go for a decent price... Otherwise if you have a PSP with some hacking and DLs you'll be able to play it on there. If you like RPGs and haven't played it you should definitely check it out.

I liked 7, 8, 10, and 10.2 of the FF series. It's been so long since playing the older ones that I can't recall which I liked of them. Don't count out ChronoTrigger and ChronoCross!

I also have been a fan of the Baldur's Gate and now the Neverwinter series. However I was a little disappointed with NWN2. Remember in all the older ones when you went into a town you could explore EVERY house, not just certain ones? And there were so many side quests it made you crazy? Dungeon Siege was like that to an extent as well.

I was never into the Elder Scrolls series until Oblivion. Oblivion was amazing. With high-end graphics the game is gorgeous and its sandbox environment provided loads of replay value. There are parts of the map I still haven't explored. The expansion was OK but I think some of the smaller DLC stuff was better.

I only have one MMO and that EVE. I've been playing a market pvp'er there for over 3 years now. Don't think I'll be changing MMOs anytime soon.

^^^ Yeah those were definitely rumors, but I hope that Square Enix will listen to their fans and at least do a sequel to that storyline. If your fiending for a continuation of the FF7 universe play Crisis Core for the PSP, great RPG, and even a bit of a tear jerker.

You have got to be kidding. Galaxies is the biggest, most boring farmfest outside of WoW there is.

If you want a good MMORPG, play EVE Online, Warhammer Online, or wait for Darkfall Online in 26 days.

Bro, I hated that game, bro. Always died of cholera, bro. Only fun part was hunting, bro.

Used to play that and double dragon for atari at the neighbor's house.

That's why I like EVE, your characters level up on a timer so you're "leveling" even when you aren't online. It seems the average age of players on EVE is much higher than most MMOs so there aren't loads of foul-mouthed kindergartners. And if you're good with economics and numbers you don't even need to spend hours playing to get cash to buy stuff in-game, you can just exploit the player-driven economy to build your capital by margins. It's the "adult" MMO if you could call one that
