    http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/cto/961904584.html

We are setting up to be there around 1-2pm tomorrow.

I'm kind of a newb, so if there's someone with some more experience who wouldn't mind giving a second look at the vehicle tomorrow - we'd greatly appreciate it.

Also - would it be worth doing something like a compression test (I'm thinking it would)? And if so, anyone know a place that is reasonable and open on Saturday afternoon?

Its a 2.2, You probably dont need to do a comp test. Get the trans hot, feel for grinds, Look at the timing cover to see if its leaking from the front at all. (underneath) other then that, they are very solid.

    thx guys.

And for the record - we're looking at just about any Subaru in the $2000-$6000 range, so if you've got one for sale feel free to PM me.

We won't be very interested in Subaru's with rust problems, torn up interiors, or major outstanding maintenance (unless the cost of outstanding maintenance is accounted for in the purchase price - so, don't expect us to buy a 120,000+ miles Subaru that's never had the timing belt changed or your 2.5 that's leaking out the HG for full Excellent condition KBB price, k).

We just talked about it - and we might have to delay it anyway. I'm overdue for an oil change and I need to do it before putting that many miles on. And we want to try looking at a nicer car locally on Sunday.

Reminds me of my moron buddy. His "05 Corolla S" was going to hit the 3k mark for an oil change in a few miles and he's not willing to go from Brooklyn Center to St. Paul. Now how stupid is that? He kept saying he dont want to damage his engine, lol.

Well, I was waiting on someone who's turned out to be unreliable to come fix an oil leak. I was under the assumption he would need the oil drained, so I waited. And waited. And waited.

Now it's over 4000 miles on regular old Valvoline 5w30 and I don't really feel like throwing a few hundred more highway miles on it before before changing it out - especially since that 4k involves a fair amount of high-rpm snowed lot fun times.

I was scheduled to use a garage last night, but it fell through. So, delays.

    LOL yea no **** ^^

I can also vouch for Q on this one. His car actually needs an oil change. If you did the kind of driving he did you wouldnt risk it either.

What kind of car are you guys looking at tmrw?

Well, someone here PM'd me about an '00 L 2.2L 101k mi. w/ some RS pieces (hood, etc.) and some suspension upgrades. That's what we want to look at.

The other one is a 97 Impreza 2.2L wagon ~170k mi. with some tint but also some rust and remote start. But its in Rochester, which we're having trouble fitting into our schedule right now.
