LSE Performance (They're in Ramsey) http://www.lse-performance.com/index.html It looks like they work on alot of Mitsubishi AWD, they're also getting an AWD Dyno.
havent heard of them, i would hope they would expand their view and work on other cars, besides mitsu.
this is the emailed i received back. They seem nice. "Justin, As you may have noticed, our DynoDynamics AWD Lowboy 450 Chassis dyno is scheduled to arrive the 2nd week of March, 2006. We are not very well versed in Subaru's, in fact I don't think we have ever worked on one. With that being said, we would be interested in hosting dyno days and working with your community. We are very well versed on Mitsubishi, Honda, Nissan, and overall forced induction style performance. We have full in house fabrication capibilities (including roll cages), as well as full install, motor building, and retail. We know how to make cars fast, just do not know the in's and outs of the Subaru's. A few forums we are on/sponser: www.dsmstyle.com -local dsm board, sponser www.mn3s.org -local 3000gt/stealth board www.mnscc.net- minnesota sport compact www.mnsrt4.com- local srt4 forum, somewhat sponser www.3si.org- national 3000gt/stealth board www.honda-tech.com- national honda forum and a host of others... Thank you for your inquiry, I'll have to check out your site later today. "
That would be so nice having a shop located to close to my house as well. I think i only live about 5 min from there.
Hi . We specialize in Mitsubishi's as that is what all of the owners have for personal vehicles. We also know Honda's and Nissan's pretty well. Toyota's we know a little bit about, then I would have to say Mazda and Subaru bring up the rear. I have worked on some subaru parts before (when I was with QPR I worked with Brian over at S3, when he use to own it, before moving to FL). Our AWD dyno, from what we can gather, will have the highest HP capibilities in the Midwest. It is a DynoDynamics AWD Lowboy 450 Chassis Dynameter with upgraded retarder units on each set of axles. This will allow it to Load 1200whp in a 2wd configuration, with the ability to graph 2400whp. In AWD/4wd mode, it will load 2400AWHP and graph 4800awhp. A good example for comparision would be RS Motors. Ron's dyno can load 600awhp and graph 900awhp. (We were looking at Mustang dyno's as well). By naming brands, I am not implying that we ONLY work on those. Just the members in those communities know of us, and our experience with those specific brands of cars. I would say we are "Mitsu" nuts because: -John L has a 1990 TSi AWD right now that we are hoping to crack high 7's with this spring/summer. He also has a 1991 Galant VR4 that went 11.66@122 on PUMP GAS back in 2003. -Josh S (me) has a 1993 Stealth RT/TT. My vehicle is slated to crack a high 10 on 92 octane, with a possibility of a low 10/high 9 on race gas. -Ryan E had a 1992 Galant VR4 that holds the factory turbo record. 12.3@109 with a 75 shot of nitrous on a basically stock, but well rounded, setup. He currently has a 1993 Stealth RT/TT that he is building for road race. Also in the "stables" are a 1991 3000gt VR4 chassis and a 2005 Evolution VIII MR. We offer full fabrication, as we have in house: -2 tig welders -2 mig welders -2 plasma cutters -"mandrel" pipe bender. Note, this isn't a exhaust TUBE bender, this is what we use to bend our chrome moly and mild steel roll cage tubing. -Lathe -Mill -A few chop saws, and all the other required metal working items. We actually prefer custom 1 off fabrication to production runs. We would rather make performance products for YOUR needs. 1 customer at a time please . We also build motors. Our current facility is a bit small on motor building space. When we finish our 1800 Square foot addition this spring, it will contain a 120 sq ft motor building clean room. This room will be heated and Air conditioned as well, to help control ALL variables. The expansion will also contain our soundproof and exhaust evacuated Chassis Dyno room, a porting/polishing room (which we are currently doing above our office, lol!), a retail center, customer lounge, and 2 offices. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thank you all for the invite. Regards, -Josh Swanberg LSE Performance
Josh, Your setup sounds sweet! Time to diversify into the Subaru market! I'll head out your way this Spring. What price estimate would say a run on your dyno would be when it comes in?
We'll probably start the dyno pricing around the Twin Cities averages. $75-3 pulls $150/hr we tune $120/hr you tune and of course we'll have Dyno day's and all day rates. Our dyno is nearly 2 seperate dyno's connected together via cables/slides. When we load an awd vehicle, we actually spread the dyno apart to the exact wheel base, its pretty slick. Then we just tell the computer what we have on there (either the vehicle type, or go into specifics like diff types, drivetrain type, etc.)
The EVO MR is John's dad's car. Its just one we can "toy" with very soon once the warranty is up. We told him we won't touch it until his warranty is expired. We do roll cages, chassis components, etc as far as "custom" chassis work.
We have decided to move to Maple Grove, MN The new address is: 10550 Cty Rd 81 suite #219 Maple Grove, MN 55369 Our facility will be closing Feburary 10th, 2006 and will re-open March 1st, 2006 at the latest. The dyno is still slated for delivery and install around March 8th, 2006. Thanks all! -Josh
Bump. We have decided to move the move in date up. We will now be closed between Saturday January 28th 2006 and will re-open Feburary 6th, 2006. This will allow us to only have a 5 day interruption in work. It is much more hectic on our part, but in the end will allow us to stay "on track" with our customers spring builds. We plan on having a grand opening party sometime in March after the dyno lands.
