I need to know who can help my aunt recover some lost files.

All the details I know are as follows.

    They're email files.
    It's a PC laptop.
She thinks they were on the hard drive at one time.
    Someone deleted them.

    Please pm me.

    Thanks!

had some good luck with this
    http://www.recovermyfiles.com/

But it only does popular extensions like .doc, .html etc.

There are many programs out there.. try google.

I've had decent luck with a free program called Restoration for undeleting files.

It depends how long the files have been deleted, they may have been overwritten by now. And you have to know what you're looking for, I know some email programs save the email in obscure locations. Also, if it's just a few messages that have been deleted, they could have been part of a larger file that contained all the messages, then it's not really possible to get back those few messages.

Emails are stored on the server. You simply download a copy. Depending on how your email is setup on the server; it might delete that original or it might save it for a while.

Try contacting whoever hosts her email and ask if it could be recoverd that way.

Assuming that someone is hosting them, of course... I have Outlook on my home computer and everything is downloaded and deleted on the server. I leave my work email on the server, though.

Someone IS hosting her email. Just a matter of how her email box and the server is setup. Sometimes the server keeps a copy for a set amount of time; despite your email clients actions.
