I was told to use black radiator paint. I can't find this anywhere and I need it tomorrow nite. I want to go black to keep it stealth stylee(my car is black). Anyone know of any other kind that would work ok? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, guys!

Check a radiator repair shop. In high school I used to hang out at the radiator shop where my friend worked, they had a spray booth set up with the right kind of paint for painting radiators, it would take maybe 2 minutes to spray the whole thing. A small shop might be willing to just paint it for a reasonable price...

If that could fit in with my work schedule then I would do it...after sorting through all the search n00b threads on fmic painting I found these two items for those interested......
    1. Rustoleum high heat. It's sold at Lowe's/Home Depot and has a picture of a BBQ grill on the can.
    2. www.swaintech.comhas this "black body emmitter" (BBE) which is black. Swain claims it improves the cooling too.
Since I don't have time for option 2 I'll be going with option 1. If I can I will take some pics.

I will be painting mine right before it goes in. I want to be as stealth as possible, but that might be a lost cause with hood pins......

So the first coat of black was applied tonite - went with the rustoleum option. Aside from Jason almost losing a foot from a falling intercooler everything went pretty well(no damage to ic). After the first wave had some time to dry it looked pretty awesome :yumyum: . Hopefully I can get some pics here soon. Can't wait to get it on the car :naughty: Thanks for hookin me up Jason and also for takin one for the team...lol.

I'll have it at Firestone tonight. No offense to any of you, but I don't feel like going down there to take pics of it right now.

Haha, yeah, my foot is a little swollen. No big deal. No bruising....yet. I think I managed to ignore the pain because by letting the core hit my foot and not the concrete floor, I dodged the need to throw 1000+ dollars of my non-existant money towards a replacement core.

The core is done with paint, and I just brought it up out of 'the booth.' I really like the way it looks. It's tempting to do that to mine now! And the finish feels pretty sturdy. I'll load it in my car later today after it has some time outside the booth to cure. It'll definately be in my trunk at Firestone, Pete.
