There is like 31 pages now to this Nasioc thread. David Bruchur made a point that the uppipe on his WRX TR project needed a bigger diameter uppipe because it is too restrictive. That created flaming response from Unabomber. Bruschur came back with dyno numbers. Going from 1.625 inch to a 2.25 inch uppipe made a bigger boost. There is more good modification information in this thread.

But that is also on a 2.5l motor. if you did that to a 2.0l motor you would definitly loose. You want a uppipe as small as you can get that doesn't have a major restriction. You want to keep the exhaust gas volocity high without being a restriction. A 2.5l motor flows so much more air than the 2.0 you are really compairing apples to oranges.

i keep rolling my eyes at bushcur. most of what he's doing is making a big deal out of rediscovering the wheel. I'll waiat to see what he comes up with in a ear or so when he is not doggedly retreading stuff thats been tried. He isn't the first person to pout a bigger up pipe on an 2.5L engine either.

Sorry but nothing he's doing hasn't been done by other tuning companies.

I mean some of his initial posts were like: "OMG the 06 WRX is underrated by the factory. DID YOU KNOW THAT????"

Buschur has built some strong Evos, which have been featured in C&D and other mags over the years.

I'm still amazed at how powerful the new cars are when compared to previous years. :eek4:

I have been subscribed to that one for awhile, he's definitely making some nice progress with his TR. The power gains on the '06 with just exhaust and tune are really nuts.
