alright, trying to get my motor all buttoned up and put together, a member is borrowing my shop manual and i never got it back... i am looking for all the torque specs on the bolts and studs for the motor. i figured mike or someone would have them handy. its a 2005 EJ20, i need as many of the torque specs on as many of the engine components as possible... mainly the heads and the intake manifold. thanks in advance. Chris
OMG ur wagon isnt up yet! Well if you're desperate, call BP subaru or Minnetonka and ask for the club members that work there like Brian etc. Some of the other guys are AHoles and tell you NO, they don't give the torque specs out... its more of a ..."No, Im a ******* and I dont know what they are. Im to lazy to spend 5 mins of my time looking for them..."
lol, Yang its coming along, decided to really do it the right way the first time than to have to redo it down the road again. amr, the disc would be fantastic if its mac compatible, and mike, if you could bring those print outs it would be absolutely fantastic! i will be down there either with my white SVX or my White wagon with gold wheels. thanks again guys, chris
alright, got the bulk of the long block assembled to spec... all i need now is the correct bolts to get for the water pump, oil pump, and oil pan. bolt lengths, thread, ect... if someone knows that would be super duper so i can try to wrap it up tomorrow. oh and for the valve covers, whats the torque spec on those? i know Mike said that most all the accessories are 8ft. lbs, i would assume these are as well. thanks again guys
so no one knows which bolts to use for the waterpump or oilpump and what to torque the head covers to?
hmmm, are you around tomorrow at all man? i just need to borrow a bolt for the water pump to go get some, that would be awesome
pretty sure the valve covers are 10ft/lbs. your are probably good if you get them tightened down pretty good with a little 1/4" ratchet. DONT drop the valve cover bolt if the motor is in the car it will land in the only spot where you cannot reach it (trust me)
nah, motor is out and just being finalized and finished off... i figured 8-9ft. lbs seeing as basically all the accessories are that... but i wasnt able to find anything really on it. i would assume they should be pretty snug as they would leak out if they weren't
alright, valve covers are on and torqued down... oil pump is shimmed, sealed, on and torqued down... water pump is sealed, on and torqued down. now, does anyone know what size bolts hold on oil pan? i would assume they would be a 10mm 8x20 or something... anyone?
^ Pretty sure LegacyPGT knows the size of those. I handed him one without telling him what it was for and he named it of the top of his head (oil pan bolt right?) lol it is a 10mm. maybe about 1/2" long
