I know there are a lot of tech geeks here so.... I am looking for a very small but functional computer (UMPC). I have a 13.3" Duo2 that I run Linux on but am thinking about one of the UX series Sonys for windblows. Anyone have one? Thoughts on it? Could I check it out and see if I like it? The only other that looked intersting was the OQO 02.
the sony superminis break so easily theyre not worth buying. I've had one, my dad has had one and our old office was littered with them.
They are on the third gen now. I wonder if they have fixed some of those problems. They are UX-3*0 series. Anyone on the 02? EDIT: Looking again it must be more than third gen. I had a UX50 a few years ago when it was still a PDA and not a computer. Never had any problems with it.
just bookmark this thread so you can look at it in a year when you're holding a newish broken sony mini laptop. Fujitsu used to make a transmeta crusoe based one that was really good actually. It was part of the lifebook series.
I currently use a UX-50 that I have had since '02. I never had any issues with it except the battery life sucks now. I have a new battery waiting to be replaced. I love the UX-50 but I'm looking to replace it with the nokia n95, let me know if you're still interested in seeing/buying it. btw, you can tell i'm new here.
Yea dont want another UX-50. I want a real processor in it. Zak I had one of those Fujitsu Laptotps. It was a P-1000 series. It was great until a friend left it in a bag turned on and it popped the CPU and a few other things.
