I was replacing my thermostat last night and one of the bolts on the thermostat housing sheared as it was coming out. It happens... Any one have any easy outs and LH drill bits made for extracting bolts? My car is sitting in the garage helpless and my wife needs to go to work tomorrow. I know how to use the extracting tools, I bought a set last night at autozone because everywhere else was closed and all the bits broke and the easy out sheared off in the hole I drilled. Needless to say, I need some quality tools.

I've sheared off a few bolts in my time. If you can take a picture so we know how bad it is maybe some people on here (like myself) can give you the best steps as to solve the issue.

I know all the tricks as well. I was just wondering if someone had an extraction kit so I didn't have to buy one. It was only $40 at Napa, not as bad as I thought. Thanks though, I appreciate it.

Thanks for giving me the itch to finally get around to doing this myself, Creace, but I ended up with a bigger problem, I think.

Tried doing this for the first time on my motorcycle (sheared a couple trying to remount the airbox after losing the originals due to vibration and not using locktite). Sheared the extractor and now will most likely give up and let Harley or at least someone more experienced give it a shot. When they instruct you to take it SLOW and EASY, do so. :(
