Does anyone in here actually race their car for cash? on the streets or at the track?

It’s like playing Pictionary vs. playing Pictionary for money. It’s fun, but when there’s money on the line, you get really pissed when your girlfriend keeps guessing pig when you’ve clearly drawn a wolf…

    g-unit?

    I don't get it.

My reasonong is: street racing is ****ing stupid. I think it's absoultely retarded, and it says a lot about street racers that like 1% of them actually race on real reacks, and when they do, they get their asses kicked. Don't ask me how many times I've seen this truism upheld.

I mean, having fun with someone who is a friend is one thing. Driving you car in a spirited manner is another thing, but c'mon, i mean THE INK ISNT DRY on your title and you're already asking about street racing for money. it's crap like this that makes me feel embarrased to own an impreza somethimes, becuase there are 100000 18 year old idiots crashing them up all over the place in some sort of sick, vin diesel fantasy.

If you need to prove your car is better than some guy you never met's car becuase he's revving his awful sounding engine at you, then something must not be right with your level of comfort with yourself/your car/who you are. I'm not going to reward the little sucker by actually racing him, I'd rather just he look like the fool

The difference if it's for money is that it gets EVEN MORE DANGEROUS, people take even more stupid risks, and you get jerkoffs who will lose, shoot you and take your money anyways. It's all part of this fake gangstaism phase everyone betwwen 12 an 21 with a penis has going on these days. You don't know if they arent some ****ty driver who is going to wreck your car, there is no technical verification on anything, and best of all, you get to occasinally kill someone else in/outside your car! for some stupid knuckle dragging ego fuleled testosterone bull****. sound like fun!

If ppl are seriouse about putting money on the line for a real race, take it to the track where it belongs.

wel thanks for the explanation, im sorry if you felt like i was undermining you, i really just wanted to hear your opinion, on the other hand im also sorry that you feel like i have a "vin diesel" fantasy, i mean after all, you dont know me, and you dont know if i was just being curious or seriously asking peple if they wanted to race, maybe also i was just wondering about like a track race, or drag race on a strip, but since "the ink isnt dry on my title" il take your advice, i dont think i was going to actually race people anyways, other than the occasional good humored block race with some other kid.....i hope this doesnt skew the way you see me, for the sake that we may actually meet someday, because you may find me as a decent kid, who does actually pay for most of his own car btw...

You're right, i dont know you. but when it comes to street racing shennanigans... I don' have a lot of patience. sorry for sounding too stern, but it annoys me.

I jst went to a very long meeting last night, a lot of which concerend the actions of a 20 year veteran of high speed events who somehow managed to badly crash his car because essentially he was driving an SRT4 with 1500 miles on it. the fact that he wasnt familiar with the car's behaviour had a lot to do with the accident. This is the kind of situation i wouldn't want to see anyone here falling into, and street racing is a good way to get in a bad situation fast. It's just a really odd question, wanting to know whether people street race form money, especially since this board and most others acively try to suppress street racing kills/arrangements etc. becuase it hurts the club, and gives us an unsavory reputation when some people would prefer a more legitimate image.

I'm sure we will meet, and its good to see that some of the assumptions i made arent true.

why thank you kind sir, il admit, i was wanting to hear someones response saying "yeah sometimes we get everyone together and go on a main road and block off all the intersections and have super cool radios and then we race 8 wide and drive so fast that our surroundings get all blurry, and then someone blows an engine and then the mad scientist has to tear apart the block to fix the gasket ya blew. and then someone gives a schpeil about winning is winning and its a jungle out here" and so on......but il just stick to NFSU2

Well, it's good to see a rational post come from you, and this above has helped you loose a bit of your "E-Thug" Rep with me, but you still sound like your buying into the media hype too much.

Do yourself a favor and come out to an AutoCross event. just watch the first one and see what people who are serious about driving do. They take it to the track.

Street Racing is just foolish, and basicly comes down to who has the most money/Stupidity. So your car is fast? you know what? i don't care. i'm much more impressed by a fast DRIVER than a fast car, because anyone with a lot of cash around can go buy an STI or a Porshce, etc, and have a fast car. but you can't buy skill.
