I would consider doing it yourself if you've got some skillz. My brother inlaw and I did it when we finished out his basement. Justin is right, Lot's of digging, and you have to rent a saw to cut through the block. I'd say working hard you could probably get it done in a weekend. I think the windows we used we around 150-200 each. Then you just need $ for a saw rental, and some concrete mix (maybe),and the lumber to frame it in.
But if you can find a good deal on it, it might be worth paying for it because it can be a pain.

I put in 3 in my last house. Lots of digging...a place to put the dirt is helpful. With all the rain in the spring, lumber or corrugated to frame the inside of the hole and keep you from digging it out twice. You will need to install a drainpipe (underground) and cover accordingly. Rent the saw (diamond blade), put up lots of plastic to attempt to keep as much dust as possible from going everywhere, which is does anyway. Cole is correct on window price. If you are going to put a bedroom down there, windows need to be a maximum height off the ground to be considered "accessible". It is a huge, hot, dirty job...that once you start cutting, you are committed. Good Luck!

I got some info you can use:

You can call Jeff Hoffman (1-800-586-4010 ext. 5017) over at Marvin window, tell him you are John Yau's friend over at Tea2 Architects and tell him your situation and need. He will answer most of your question and probaly a price.

Hope that help, let me know if you need anything else.

    John
