I have a bedroom window that apparently needs to be replaced and so i had some window company come out to take a look at it, they quoted me 550bucks.
Since this is my first home and my first window replacement i was wondering if that was pretty normal for pricing?

Depends on the size and type of window but that prolly a normal price.

I just replaced all the windows in my place. Yeah that's about right, but it depends on the size of the window and the quality of the window. But around $500 for a dual pane vinyl window sounds right.

Who did you called? Make sure you ask for references of their work and check BBB to see if there is any problem. I see way too many time a contractor that doesn't know how to properly waterproof a window...

Also ask them the type (manufacture) of the window they are using and do a research on them. E rating.

Typically Marvin, Pella, and Loewen are your best window choices out there right now.

Bid the project out and then opt for the lowest bidder.

Also check if you qualify for the Home Energy rebate which you could get up to $1,500 back depending on the sizes of window you are putting in.
