I have about 19 african cichlid fry (babies) that need homes. These are extremely aggressive fish and cannot be in a tank with any other fish. I Also have a 55 gallon tank willing to sell for $40. The fish will be free. If you decide you want the tank, I can help you set it up with all the necessary chemicals and all that. It will have to have at least 3 weeks to cycle before and fish go in there but if you decide to buy the tank, i will hold onto the fish for you. I know this is a car forum but I thought I would let my Subie buddies get first dibbs if they wanted them. Let me know!
those fish are pretty colorful... my cousin breeds them, and have plenty. good luck with the sale....
Thanks man. Yeah they are the most beautiful fresh water fish imo. They just look like little black babies but when they grow up they get very bright yellow and bright blue. You can also food them live food like grubs and crickets whish is pretty cool to watch.
I used to have convect cichlids that spawned. They where in a 30 gal with 2 other africans and they are very overprotective of their fry. Both the mother and father would pick them up in their mouth and wouldn't let the 2 Africans past the halfway point of the tank. Cichlids are gorgeous fish. I had to give mine all away... Good luck!
$40 for a 55 gallon is a steal. You won't have a hard time finding a buyer at that price. I already have 4 tanks and my wife wouldn't mind killing me for having so many. Actually, she would prefer to.
Yeah they are extemerly prtective of their young. The only thing you have to worry about is when the fry start getting bigger the parents will actaully kill them to protect their spot the have designated as their own. Very territorial fish. I feed mine a ton so they stay pretty mellow towards eachother.
Yeah its a pretty good deal but there is no stand for it so thats why i priced it so low. I have a 255G so no room for the 55G. Just buy a 255G tank and stick your wife in it. Then you will have 5! :laugh:
