If anyone is doing this, I would possibly like to buy your old trans. I'm looking for a stock 5spd that will fit in my 01 forester. I figured it would be easier to get one lined up so I know what i'm getting. Budget is on the lower side if possible. Wouldn't be ready to purchase until around end of April, just trying to get one set up.
Probably not as soon as "spring" but sometime this year before its cold again. The outgoing tranny (fs thread I bought it from: http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28412, so figure 15k+ more miles and less $$) will be quite cheap but may not be the most reliable (old, mileage, noisy - possibly bad input shaft bearing? shifts great, though, and no grinds)
I've got one I'll be taking out of my '96 Impreza, but you don't want it. It's not that it's broken, but it's close.
