    Hey,

I've provided some soundproofing to a few of the members on here, and I would like to ask a favor of one or two of you if I could. I write the blog for my website at work and I just added a "Success Stories" section. I would really like to get an automobile highlight story to have someone that has used the stuff to put together a couple paragrphs about what they thought of the products performance and about the install. Pictures would be extremely helpful, but I'm sure it would be an after-thought at this point.

All I would need is a paragraph about the "problem" before the install - or the reasons why you wanted to do it in the first place. What you thought of the product (likes and/or dislikes) about the installation process as well as your description(s) of the result.

    Thanks!

    Ted

Yeah, I've got some stuff for you. A lot of race and drag shops sell it by the product name "The Insulator". I sell it as an HVAC product because the market is much bigger.

When we built our GTI, we took off the heat shield for the exhaust. Our catalitic would get literally red hot and we ended up melting some oem vibration damping tar on the floor of the car durring our first rally (we thought it was our shoes at first). I glued some of our foil faced, 1/4" cotton to our firewall and tunnell with some Super 77 spray adhesive - problem solved.

It's not "fire proof" but it does dissipate heat VERY well and will not burn even if you hit it with a torch. The cotton behind the foil might smoke a bit, but it is self-extinguishing.

    Sound like the right stuff?
