Voice Over IP.. You use your computer microphone and call thru the internet to a phone.. Free calls.

I used to do a crap load of "Audio confernceing" when I used to play on line games like DAOC, and when my x was home in spain.... I think it is a good idea if you need to make long distance calls from the home, but I always use my cell for long distance. The only reason I have a house phone is for the alarm..... Otherwise I would drop my house phone. IMHO VOIP > Land line.

Not Quite. To get phone number taht someone else can call from a land line you basicaly have to pay for a service.... From what I understand you can acctualy get a box and tie it into your existing wireing for your house phones...

they also have listings for Digital phones.

But in general time warner has a box just like everyone else to tap into.

I've thought about switching to VOIP...free long distance to North America and all of western Europe with Lingo is a pretty sweet deal. It's no more expensive than a basic land line from Qworst too.
