    The MSDS's I just skimmed over show non-chlorinated brake cleaners to not have Tetrachloroethylene.

    Ohhhh yeah, phosgene is nothing to mess around with. That stuff is REALLY bad for you. Apparently it smells like fresh cut grass by itself.

    Hence why chlorinated brake clean is so hard to come by anymore.

    Hell, brake cleaner is illegal in CA.

    yep.... that story went around a while back in our welding course... scary when you weld on other peoples crap they bring you too!!

    Same info applies if you use chlorinated solvents near gas heaters ;) Even if you never breathe it, they'll turn the heater to rust in a hurry.

    Moron. Who starts having symptoms like that for multiple days and doesn't go to a hospital?

    That being said, Phosgene is nothing to mess with. It's amazing the combinations of chemicals/chemical reactions that people make every day by accident and don't even realize what they're creating. One of the more famous cases is Gloria Ramirez, who ended up sickening several hospital workers (and dying in the process) through a sequence of chemical reactions:
