hey, i really want to pick up a 20 g when the weather gets nicer out. where should i buy one? im leaning towads Deadbolt. also what supporting mods do it need, as of now i have an accessport, turbo back exhaust and tuned by russ. thanks guys!
Fuel pump and injectors for sure. The mods I have done to my car make it ready for a larger turbo but I am not planning on one anytime soon. I am trying to get the most out of the stock one. Check my link below if you want.
Well, I think i would stay clear of the db turbo. They have some serious boost creep issues. If you want the 20g, I would go with sbr or fp. Discopope was running the db 20g and as soon as he went catless, he had uncontrollable boost creep. Russ
pritty mutch anyone around hear who has one is runnig a slow boy tdo6 20g. dipp has one for sale still i think. i would get it now cuze there is usealy a couple mounth wate on that turbo
I've got a SlowBoy 20G STI. My car is having issues currently but nothing to do with the turbo. For the few hours my car was actually functioning right last summer that turbo put down some very nice power. I got my a$$ handed to me by Dream's 35R STI on the freeway but nonetheless the 20G is very nice. I have full boost by 3800rpm which isn't too bad. My goal this year is to knock that down by a couple hundred rpms. To go along with the turbo I purchased an AP, DP, CBE, injectors, fuel pump, turbo inlet,fmic, and perrin big maf intake. You will also need a gm boost solenoid or dtec. If I could do it again though I would stick with a monster tmic to help with lag. MCJT has the same setup as me only with the perrin tmic and he spools faster and makes more torque where I make slightly more hp.
FP has a 34mm flapper to help with boost creep. That's what's on the way for me. I had it here but forgot to tell them 3" inlet and had to send it back. It has a 8cm hot side also.
i have a SBRtd06 20g if your serious about buying the turbo i will hold on to it for a while for you pm me if you are really intrested.
make sure you get an 8cm exhaust housing on any 20g you buy. SBR would be my first pick. conversely, the gt35r in the smaller exhaust housing setup spools so amazingly fast, there are not many reasons to go smaller...... so long as you can swing buying everything in one lump sum.
