I just got permission from the wife to buy an atv, so I bought one. I know some of you guys have quads and atvs that you use on the trails. I was wondering if anyone is interested in having a little day trip on the trails? I am planning on going this saturday and wanted to see if anyone knows of any good trails.
picked up an 05 brute force. I cant wait to go to the trails this saturday with it. Sometimes in the summer we go near Spooner to wheel out there. My buddy's inlaws lives out there.
we got our last dog from spooner WI. lol I want an atv but we are still trying to buy a house so no go for now.
My parents have two Grizzly 660 and a King Quad 700. No need to buy one. Just go beat up theirs. Kinda nice, they all have the same rims/tires. So getting a flat is no big deal. Bring a spare rim along. They all work.
sportsman 500 and explorer 250 here mille lacs has sick trails. like the soo line trail and then there is tons of little ones of that. its a good time
yep, if its open then we are going to the soo line trail, I think thats what it is called. The other option is a little bit north of Hinckley. Oh and Bill, I hope you get a house soon so you can get a street bike and then an atv. Buy soon cause houses are cheap now.
I have a 99 Yamaha Wolverine. It is out of commission for now as I am rebuilding the rear end. Can't wait to get it going again! I heard there are some good trails between Little Falls and Brainerd near Camp Ripley. I haven't tried them out YET though.
This is my brother's shop http://holeshotdesigns.com I had to sell my 250R when we moved out here. Dune ridding FTW!
I had a 400ex for a LONG time. Hit up General andrews state forest (right on 35). Pretty nice place, and you have access to about 6-8 different gravel pits plus about 30 miles of trails. Russ
03 yz 125 The offroad highway up in gilbert looks like an extremely badass place to ride. Not me, but was filmed there:
The 400ex must be the easiest atv to wheelie ever*. I had a blaster quite a few years ago, but my friend and I took it up north(in WI) and he crashed it into a tree bending the wheel, frame and tie rod. *not just popping a wheelie but looong wheelies.
there are lots of nice trails by us, Gilbert is nice but I dont go there since its mostly red ore and it stains everything.
Yeah, I am sure you have a few trails up by you. also, lilred we have an offer in, just waiting to hear.
Well if anyone wants to join us on saturday, I will try to post up the location and we can meet up somewhere to wheel. I wont know until at least friday and hopefully I remember to post it on here. Good luck to you Bill on the house. I know the tonka brothers have the 400 so if you guys want to meet up then its cool. Definitely gonna be wet out there. I hope the trails are open.
We are going to try to hit up the trails north of Mille laks but we are most likely going near danbury or at least on the trails near there on the minnesota side. If you see a brute force and 2 rincon riding in the area, then that would most likely be us.
Its official! We are going to St. Croix forest on saturday! We will be there the majority of the day. I am really looking forward to this as this is my first time trail riding!
St. Croix St. Forest is a tough ride. Unless it has been groomed in the last 5 years it is a rough trail. You will be in for a solid workout for your first ride. Russ
What? A work out? Are you guys kidding me? Like am I going go have to move boulders to get through? We will be wheeling for about six hours or so. Am I going to have call in sick on the next day to work? Now I am scared but still excited. Bring out the 400 Brian! You and Ben can come and play also.
Looks like we'll be on the Gandy dancer and probably in the St Croix trail area. Looks like Nemadji is closed right now
Nemadji gets really tore up when it is wet and is usually closed quite often in the spring. I'm sure their singletrack is a swamp right now.
We are heading to St. Croix saturday! I will be up there about noonish! majorly excited about this! If anyone is going up around that area, I hopefully will see you! I will be the last one out of the three holding the closed fist!
I was always riding a 400ex. He said it is his first ride. The place is not Nemadji where you can just keep it pinned in 5th and cruise all day. And like I said, I haven't been there in 5 years or so, and back then it had little to no grooming. Russ
Just giving you a hard time, mang. It it still fairly rocky at St. Croix, especially on the big loop that is accessed from that bridge. The only thing I don't like about a lot of the DNR places is that most of the trails are all 2-way trails. You never know if somebody is going to be flying around a corner in the opposite direction. Snake Creek is almost all 1-way trails and has some pretty interesting terrain.
I do recall bending my "un-bendable" rear swing arm skid plate there... Awesome trails though, we will have to go again for sure!
Hmm, will have to get the Foreman or our Polaris out that way. My family has a place in Pillager. (Can't remember the specifics on our rides)
Heh, I should take you guys to Arkansaw. Snake Creek is a walk in the park compared to Arkansaw.
yamaha 660 raptor. i like to catch the Gandy dancer trail in Danbury WI. the main trail is pretty simple and boring but tonnss of side trails!
Just got back and it was great! Hey does anyone know a place where I can get a good deal on gas cans? My wheeler is a pig!
Dennis Kirk or Bob's cycle. Dennis kirk scratch and dent will probably be you best bet, and you can hit it up next time you head north. The are right on 35 and rush city. Russ
It's short notice, but driftin and I are going down to the Tri-County atv park in Faribault today. We should be there around 1 o'clock. Here is the link if anyone is interested. http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ohv/trail_detail.html?id=32
