Great! If you want to be added to the list, just let me know which color/style! Let's get some more people signed up and drop the price!
I love mine. I have owned a more expensive Lethe Works knob and this thing blows that out of the water. You will not be sorry if you pick one of these up.
Please let me know if you would like to be added so we can get to Tier 2 pricing! Thanks! It is also one of the cheapest high quality knobs on the market! Here is what Derek did with his (custom powdercoat, not available through the Group Buy):
In stock: (3) 5MT Grey (4) 5MT Black (2) 6MT Grey (2) 6MT Black This does not account for the ones already spoken for in the Group Buy.
It is a metal knob so it is susceptible to heat and cold. But the thick powder coat does do a good job on insulating your hand. I use mine all year round and never have an issue with it being too hot or cold to use.
Hhmmm.... The Cobb one I have now has virtually no hot to cold variance. But I am interested in these smoother shifts you speak of with the heavier knob. What exactly creates the smoother shift when having more weight?
The plastic knobs (like COBB) will not be affected by temperature. But they are extremely light. Much lighter than even the stock knob. I would guess the COBB knobs weighs around 100grams at the most. This is half as much as stock. The Anarchy Motive knob is over 6x heavier! All this extra weight is extra inertia during the shift. Once you get it moving enough to take it out of one gear it will pretty much fall into the next gear on its own (Newton's first law).
Makes sense. Now, excuse me if this is a dumb question, but, wouldn't shifting faster have the same affect as a heavier knob? In theory any way?
Yes, but takes more effort. It's inversely related. The heavier the knob, the easier it goes into the next gear.
Also this knob helps to make your shifts more butter like when you upgrade your shifter bushings. I noticed a huge difference swapping from OEM to this knob. My setup was OEM knob with Cobb Dual Adjustable SS and TIC Holy Wide Kit (Kartboy set + TIC extra bushings).
GROUP BUY IS CLOSED! The group buy ended up in Tier 1, so the cost is $90. But if you pay in cash I will bump it into Tier 2 pricing and it will only be $85. Just picked mine up. This knob is a very nice compliment to shifter bushings or visa versa. I love it! Makes the shifts much smoother and the lever drops into place.
