I have a 2006 STi with 26,000 miles on it. It has SPT catback exhaust. If i want to get APS 65mm CAI would i need to get it tuned? thanks -Jordan
Spend your $$$ on a stage 1 road tune from Bullwinkle. Or better yet a downpipe and a tune. You won't gain anything from putting on an intake with your current and near future setups other than more noise.
ya I agree with Wall of Tvs.. if you plan to install a CAI.. you would benefit better with a tune than with none at all. My car came with a APS CAI when I brought it and it's running stock settings but its running a bit lean which I don't like so I'm hoping for a stage 2 protune with a turboback this summer.
I would say yes. I have tuned 2 of the 65mm intakes, and I had to do just as much work to get them correct as I would have to do for the 70mm. They will throw off the AFR, so you will definitely need a tune with that intake. Like stated above, save the money on the intake and get a downpipe. The intake will not net you the same gains as a downpipe and a tune. Not even close. Russ
Absolutely no need for a CAI. Only more noise and risk of getting water in there. Get a stage one tune.
