I applied to a job a couple of months ago working for a company in South St Paul that produces fire pumps and fire hydrants. I would be working in their Service/Training department, basically the same thing I did working in the parts department. Taking parts orders and helping diagnose/troubleshoot over the phone, just working with fire pumps instead of Subarus. The Training part of the job would have me traveling 2-3 weeks every quarter around the country and into Canada to demonstrate and train various Fire Departments. In short, this would be a dream job for me. I submitted the app and didn't hear anything for a while. I interviewed and ended up getting a call back for the second interview. I think I did alright, I seemed to make a good impression on everyone that I talked to from what I could tell. They weren't rushing me out the door anyway  Now, here's where the suspense is killing me. I found out that they only are interviewing a couple of people out of the 60ish applications a second time. So I know that I've got a very good shot at the job, but so do a couple of other people. It's almost worse knowing that I'm so close to the job but I don't know what the other people have for background experience, etc. I've been through competitive job applications before, but the suspense is always the worst part. Anyone have a time machine I can borrow to fast forward to next week? Thanks guys, just had to vent
doh, out of stock, sorry. http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Select-Flux-Capacitor-Replica/dp/B000ZM0Q4I Good luck with the job!
Good Luck man, I'm in the middle of looking for a job, and the suspense is killing me as well. I send out my resume 10-11 times per night to different companies. Although I'm finding its REALLY hard living 6.5 hours south to interview for jobs. But hang in there, Worse case senerio, if you dont get it, It'll be more fire for you to go get another job that suits you just as well. Keep yer head up!
No, but I know people who know people who work where Brian has applied to. They should be putting in a good word for him next time they go to work. If they don't I'll send this guy after them ittyfool:. Just trying to help a man out.
1.21 gigawatts should help. Best of luck buddy. I know what it's like. The wife is going though the same thing right now.
^ good ole Tanya Harding and the crowbar connection. Good luck with the job. let us know when you get it!
Bri- we should talk. Helping people navigate the interview process and securing the position is my specialty.
I was going to update this yesterday but didn't get a chance to. I have another meeting with them on Monday and hopefully things will go well. Dave, you have PM I'll keep you guys up to date as I hear things. I've got every finger and toe crossed and I've cornered the market on lucky items. Lotta rabbits in my area missing feet.
Well, the suspense is killing me no more. I got the call this morning... I GOT THE JOB!!!!! Ok, just had to get that out of my system Looks like I'll be starting next week. I'll be working for a company called Waterous in South St Paul doing parts and training for them. This just made my whole year. I don't think I'll stop bouncing for a while yet...
Glad to hear the good news Brian. From what I hear it is a great company to work for. Parts are a little on the big side for what I do however.
If I drank, I would certainly take you up on that offer. However, I think we might be able to arrange some kind of meet before too long. Might be fun to have an informal meet over there one of these weekends.
