THIS IS NOT A FS THREAD!

I am considering selling my 2006 wrx tr W/ aprox 27,000 miles on it.

I want to post a selling price that is fair and will attract attension, but I don't want to give away the deal of the century to some lucky person.

I am not looking to make huge profit off the sale, but I would like to greace to me palms a little.

What price should I be asking so people don't simply disregard my sale as being too high?:dunno:
The car will be sold in stock condition and the car has only one scratch in the paint on the bumper by the trunk.

    NADA- Average trade in= $12,400
    Clean trade in= $13,300
    Clean retail= $15,500
All can add $825 for lower miles

    KBB- Retail (dealer)= $19,255
Private party in "good" condition= $15,905
    Trade in= $13,825

So I guess if you wanna sell it fast shoot for around $14,000 if you wanna play the haggle game and wait a bit I'd say start at $16,000 and go from there.

    Just my .02

If I was you i'd search what other people are selling them for locally then set your price accordingly. If there isn't any for sale in the area, start searching nationally.

I consistently see them sell for well more than that....

I also looked on blue book, edmonds and wht not... those are the right numbers , but it just doesn't sound right.

But think from the otherside of the table. When someone is comming to buy your car these are the #'s they are looking at, ya know... So they may not sound right or feel right but thats usually always the first thing out of peoples mouths.... "well KBB says its worth .....". Keep in mind the buyers point of view during the sale.

I was looking at the ones I see for sale around here and they range from $18,900 to $16,000

I can hardly see $14,000 as a good bench mark for sale value....

cars cease to have tangible monetary value (yet you still have to insure them...) the minute you buy them. think also in terms of how much you need to extract from the sale and compare to market and the various valuation services. then just pick a price and add some padding and put it up for sale.

after that stick to your guns and be patient, if the car is worth what you say it is it'll sell eventually.

I usually try to figure a rock bottom price on my stuff when I sell something now. So on something like your car I would addv. it for 16k but my rock bottom would be 14k.

Another thing is people always want to haggle you down on price. Giving yourself a cushion there lets you come down still make back your money and the buyer feels better about the purchace because he was able to get you to come down.
