So i left my car in the road in from of my house, instead of the parking spaces behind my house. I came out in the morning to my car and found a fairly large dent midway in the drivers door. I was wondering if something like this would be common of an extremely dumb (drunk?) attempted break in of my car, or was just hit by something. You can see in the second picture that the two white marks on the bottom of the window are actually scratches that occurred at the same time. Anyone seen something like this before?

sorry the pictures suck, only have my phone camera with me.

never even thought of that, there are sidewalks on both sides of the street. i was thinking maybe they tried to shove something down into the door, and that is where the dent came from, but cyclist makes pretty good sense...

They would never try to break in at that point they'll normally go to the top and pry the window back since imprza don't have any window trim. Bummer man, but at least the paint looks good.

That window trim is thin crap metal. It'll never pop back out, so don't bother. Just find a new one from the dealer.

    Updated, found something new

So, i washed my car yesterday, and found something interesting at the top of my window. I believe that this was done at the same time as the last dent i found, the car has since been parked in a garage. its much smaller than the one at the bottom of the window, which would explain why i didn't see it right away. This i do believe was someone trying to get into my car.

I would have guessed break in right away. There a no way a biker would hit that part on your car that hard to make a dent in a Crease of your car and not hit scrape or scuff anythng else up especially the paint below and the mirrors. People are just retarded and must not know how to properly break into a subie. I guess that's a good thing we have stupid theives around though. Did you have anythng valueable lying around your car? They weren't trying to steal our car because if they would have known how to steal your car they would have known how to break into it too.1

I would start parking it in the garage if you have one. I dont trust the people were I live so I made it a piont a few weeks back to clean it out so I could park in it. I'm happy for you that they didn't get in the car!

Install an alarm or park it in a garage is your best bet. Looks more like an attempted break in to me.

the car is pretty much stock, only thing you can tell from a distance is the STi wing and i never play my subs by my house loud, and unless you know i have them, you cant tell. the only other thing that was in there was my deck, thinking back, i didnt take the faceplate off, so that was my mistake. I have parked this car on the road once in almost a year, and that happens. I have a new security system that i haven't put in yet, was going to sell it and upgrade to the top of the line one. Anyone have any experience putting in a Viper 5701 that would have some tips for me?
