Has anyone put in a computer system into their car? For a goof I started looking at this because I have 160+ GB of music that I have been ripping to my computer, but then I got to thinking that this would also work for people who are tuning their cars with laptops.

Little touch screen action, which becomes your little monitor

I've been looking at it for a little over a year now.

There used to be a company that sold a "carputer", but it was underpowered and overexpensive, they were supposed to come out with another one, but I don't think they had enough of a market.

Paul Yath has what looked like one in his car at the tuning day, but it sounded like it didn't quite work the way he wanted.

From some examples I've seen so far, best bet would be to use a laptop with a bluetooth mouse and/or keyboard as well as a touch screen(like the one you linked to or you can get an overlay).

I'm thinking best mounting spot for the display would be where the guage pack would be on a WRX(center console top), you can get the guage housing and slip a single din pop-out monitor. Then, you put the laptop in the glove compartment, and you plug in your: UTEC, OBD II reader, TUNA, and music to have wonderful tuning goodness.
