If you didn't just watch the Bathurst 1000, you missed an extremely exciting race. The Gold Coast 600 on October 22nd should also prove to be an exciting one.
Yes it was a good race to watch... to bad i fell asleep in the last 8 laps and woke up 30 laps into the F1 race.
welcome to what used to be my weekend watching all the time... The Gold Coast is where I moved from... I do miss the SuperCars.. they dont go around in circles... They also run a Touring Car class for 2.0 engines... which is amazing to watch
oh and if you want to see an amazing Bathurst race... search Peter Brock Bathurst in the rain... he was on slicks........... other videos are better but this will get you on your way... Peter Brock and Dick Johnson were around the same era and both amazing drivers... also Bathurst is actually a normal road through or to a town that gets closed off for the weekend of the races... kinda like Isle of Mann
Yeah I've been watching V8's for a number of years, but finally watching the Bathurst live last night was a whole different experience, and an exciting one. I've only seen snippets of the touring cars down there, but I'm hoping to catch a race when I head down there next year to visit the lady. I honestly think that V8's, British Touring, and German Touring are the best racing on TV (not on dirt).
Gold Coast is my home.... Brisbane has a huge car scene.. keep an eye on the 4s & Rotaries... http://www.rotormaster.com.au/2011/08/24/brisbane-jamboree-2011/ depending what date you go in 2012 you should check this out... wanna see some fun street cars... Maleny is out there inland.... http://maps.google.com/maps?q=malen...+Queensland,+Australia&gl=us&t=m&z=10&vpsrc=6 if you open this then look right next to the circle/arrow thing there is a town called Hivesville.. thats were I grew up for 11yrs of my childhood.... technically the outback
yeah I know its a bit inland... I was just using the gold coast and brisbane as the points of reference... I honestly didn't remember where you were from down there. lol
First time I watched the Supercars...kind of a mash-up of SCCA showroom stock, Formula 1 and NASCAR. Six-plus hours was way too long (thank god for the DVR). Can't wait for a typical length race. And hopefully a different broadcast crew than what they had for Bathurst.
The broadcast crew for that on Speed was american's who are accustomed to Nascar. they sucked. Normally the races are faster paced and more inclined to include crashes and pushing all over the track
